hey how come you don't combine the enchanting gears with enchanting potions? you didn't mention fortify enchanting gears at all. Combining enchant gears with enchant potions will make everything more powerful right?

And also, does anyone know the console command for increasing the base damage of bows?

I found ones for unarmed and melee damage, but nothing for bows yet.

@Lacota137 for the perks you will have to cheat like crazy. You need to be low level so even though you are level 40 with the command "player.setlevel x" you can get the number of your level to 1, note that you don't get any perk setting you level, then what you need to do is level up. The best way to get level ASAP using console command is to level up a skill, you can use "advskill *skill name* X " then you get more peks

Well, *fullstory*, I have head, neck and gloves 25% that I created using console command, the ring I tried to enchant it then I could only get it to 20% without any help of gear. I have enchanting 100 with ~ALL~ Perks. When I equip everything and drink the potion it goes to 23%, then i repeat the process. My potions are 30% more enchanting and even with it the ring cannot go higher then 23% no matter how much i repeat the process. any tips??

I actually have the same problem as Reginolde. I have all 28 percent but my potion is still 30 percent. I have 80 in alchemy and i have all the relevant perks, the 5/5, and the next two. Do i need to get to 100 to add the extra two percent or something?

@ObamaGoesPostal - sure. the only disadvantage to the black star is you can only enchant one piece at a time before having to refill it. if you have extra gold, just buy the grand soul gems (filled) from vendors. mages at the college of winterhold and most mages that hang around the jarl's will sell them.

@AceeJockey - you need 29% gear, not 28%. you either need to do one more gear loop OR you are missing one of the perks OR not 100 in both skills. you have to do the alchemy->enchant->alchemy loop multiple times to hit 29% gear.

so i dont completely understand the armor cap. i have armor that has about a 1500 protection rating. does that mean that it only protects me up to 672? Where could i find out how it works? or if you could explain, that would be great. thanks

@habel7892 - i added an annotation, but the math people have confirmed the cap to be 567. It is hard to explain but to dumb it down, you can only have 85% physical damage mitigation and that happens at 567 armor rating. Any value over that number has no effect. You can keep increasing it if you want, but it will no longer do anything because your hits are being reduced by the max amount possible.

@habel7892 - I should also add one thing - blocking stacks with armor rating and also caps at 85%. But - the armor rating of the shield isn't used in this so you still want to go for 567 max even as a shield user. The materials used and perks are what effect block. I will make a video on that when I have fully figured out how the item percentages work.

OR does it mean that if I select the enchantment within the 30 seconds, that it will keep the value before actually enchanting, but will not work again without taking another potion?

@merrickx - it will keep the value on the screen after the potion wore off - as long as you do not open the menus to change anything you selected. say you made something and went back to the main screen and renamed it and let it sit there. after 30 seconds of time, what you made still sits there.

if you open up the "soul gem" menu again, even if you dont change the soul gem, the item you made will downgrade at that point

@Cryptically - the higher the skill, the better the effect. with lower skill, you will see lower percentages than in this video - but it is still possible to do the loop and gain percents over what the perk offers you to start.

I'm about to purchase the PC version of the game and look forward to trying this out with the Krosis mask at the start of this and see what the numbers look like.

Unless someone already knows what the numbers would be if each of the 3 sets of "Alchemy Gear" you craft with this procedure include a Falmer Helm & Krosis mask instead of just any old helm?

Final set would be ALchemy +49%...but what wouuld the potency of the Enchanting & Smithing potions?

@pms00 Thanks :o) Since they have shown they're not afraid of putting a hard cap in place for total armor rating.....it logically makes sense they would not hesitate to put a similar hard cap on Alchemy, Enchanting, and/or Smithing if they felt it was warranted. I forsee this happening at some point soon, but it would be cool to see what the numbers would look like anyways.

If you make weapons/armor with your 20% enchanted items you will be able to kill anything everything in 2-3 hits. i only have level 35 and 513 armor 75 damage and i kill giants in 4 hits. i can stand with a shield drawn and my health is regens completely after each hit. great way to level your blow and armor too bad you dont need to.
