It can be depending on where you live and whether or not you buy your own gear. There are cheaper hobbies, but then again, there are more expensive ones.

Around 160 now.

Depends on how deep you go, how much air you individually use, and conditions. The deeper you go the more air you use, and if the dive requires a lot of physical work you'll go through your air quite quickly. On average around 45 minutes for one dive.
