hold power and home for like 15 seconds, it should go in DFU mode, then plug it in your mac/pc and sync it with iTunes...

Thats not broken, mines broken. I open the box plugged it in to charge and it wouldn't charge, and yes I tried many other cords and rebooted the phone. Been almost 2 weeks and still no iPhones in stock.....

That just happend to my iPod all you have to do is hold the home button and the on/off button for about 10 seconds and it should work fine afterwards!!

This happened to me, what you have to do is plug it into iTunes and hold both buttons for 10 seconds, then let go and hold the lock button for 5 seconds, this worked for me on my iPod touch 4g

My 4S is 2 days old and the same thing happened about an hour ago. Mine was locked on the "spinner" screen. While watching your video and not even seeing Gary's comment, I pushed the front and top buttons down at the same time and it reset. Not too happy this is happening with the phone at only 2 days old.

Lol what a newbie I like how throwing it around and bashing it is the first thing that comes to mind. If it wasn't broken before throw it around some more I'm sure that will do the job, and it's Facebook that has to catch up with the new iOS 5 not the phone that is causing the software glitch. Like everybody else says hold down the power an d home button till it restarts. It's called a hard reset.

Reboot:

Press and hold home button for 2 seconds

Without letting go hold the power switch for 10 seconds should reboot and correct itself

That should fix it. My 4 (not s) always freezes on the fb app. Only app that has problems and makes my phone need to be rebooted once and a while. So I'd blame fb mobile app.

Yeah do what Garymandievan says, hold both buttons down. Worst case, put it into DFU mode reload the software through iTunes. DFU mode - you can download for free pwnagetool and it will walk you through DFU, it's basically just holding both buttons for 10 seconds, then release the top button while continuing to hold the home button for 10 seconds... Then reload the software through iTunes and restore. Good luck
