I'm scheduled to have my surgery on Jan 23, I'm soo excited and nervous at the same time. Thia video was very helpful and gave me insight on what will happen in the operating room
Thank you for posting this video. I am considering having this done. My household has only one income and no insurance. Credit not so good. How can I get approved for this? I LOVE if you could perform it.
@HUNNILUV04 Hi. Thanks so much for your comment. If you wish more info please send us an email to info @ endobariatric . com (without the spaces). Please let me know if I can help in any other way.
@Sarahcon814 Hi. Thanks for your comment. This is another option to weight loss surgery. It has shown to be as effective as the gastric bypass but with less side effects and long term complications. Hope this helps with your questions. Let me know if I can help in any other way.
@pwhite7608 Yes I completely understand the situation but to statistics show that a person with your BMI will not be able to lose the weight needed but most importantly to maintain it if you don't have a type of weight loss surgery. This is a great procedure and that is why your ENT doc is suggesting it. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
@jagoda520 Hi! Thanks for the comment. Surgery is not painful. You do have some soreness similar to doing 50 ab-crunches the day before but it is very manageable with medication. After the first 24 hours most patients are practically off strong pain medication. Normally bleeding is minimal as you can see on the video. Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can help in any other way.
Dr. Alvarez is the best, his staff is incredible and he changed my life, I am so happy and have lost 50 lbs in 3 months, many of my friends and some of my family are going to take the next step too with Dr. A he is awesome!! !
I had my my "New Birthday" a year ago as of 1/28/11. It will be my anniversary and I am down 135lbs. I feel fabulous. I feel and look like a brand new me
My mom had the Gastric Bypass (RNY) about 3 years ago, and has been very successful. She's very happy that she did it, and wouldn't hesitate in doing it again. I'm seriously thinking about getting the VSG myself. Right now, I'm looking around for cheaper places to have the surgery done.
can someone PLEASE tell me..where is it perform??..and HOW MUCH??...all the web is going crazy about the surgery IN MEXICO but nobody says anything about prices in US..I rather have mine here in Florida...but everytime I call to some office they want to give me a APPOINTMENT with the Doctors($200 visit)..just to tell me HOW MUCH IS THE COST OF SURGERY...can someone PLEASE HELP ME and let me know about PRICES IN FLORIDA????
My cousin had this done by this same doctor. He has lost over 160lbs in less than a year. My cousin was over 500lbs. He looks great now and is more active and happy.
You'll be great! :) Remember, the first day is always the hardest. After that you'll feel better and better.
The keyis to get up as soon as you can, woozy or not, and walk, walk, walk... it helps the body rewaken after surgery and expell the chemicals/restart organs. A shower the day after if you can manage it will feel incrediblely good. And the gas pains in the shoulder will go faster if you move around, it makes gas get expelled faster. Heat packs and hot water in shower will help with gas.
i had mine 2 years ago (in australia) and its has been great. unlike the bypass you dont have any bowel resection, so there is no change in the way the stomach works, its just smaller.
It is because it leaves part of your stomach. If you are seriously thinking of a gastric bypass, go for this first, because a gastric bypass changes your life in many ways that can be very hard to live with. (Such as not being able to have certain foods because they go straight through you... no exit port on stomach!)
This leaves the stomach but just a tiny amount, enough to survive but not too much.
