You can't get cancer from green light, you'd need UV or a higher frequency to do damage (displace electrons and cause funny bonding in your DNA). You can't get cancer from infra red either, it would just transfer heat.

dont buy lasers from gy3 beacuse they dont burn, if you want a burning laser look for nm GREEN is 532nm RED is 650nm BLUE 405nm look for that if you want burning lasers. go to dealextreme and you can get cheap lasers :)

I'm not especially educated in the area, but from what I remember from school, you are seeing the light the reflects off of the object. (like how the table looks green when that green laser reflects towards you). Objects that appear white reflect almost all the light away. While darker colors, absorb a large portion of light as heat, and reflect much less. That heat that gets stored is what is popping the balloon, and that is why a marker would help a white balloon.

@softairwaffenfreak in daytime, streetlights are not on because of the daylight. at night, they do not pick up any light so they come olthen again, at night it will detect the laser light and shut off. i hope this helped you. if it did not just reply so.

@bjrule211 It works only on certain streetlights that use light censors. When you shine the laser on the light sensor the sensor thinks its day and turn the light off, but there are also times street light that automatically turn on and off at a certain time.

@smok1nb3ast How old is she? this is not something you give to chidlren.(or immature people) make sure she knows how dangerous the laser is. it can perminantly dammage someones eyes. if you think she might misuse the laser then she shouldnt have it. the laser is not ir filtered. this does not make much of a difference though. only a litttle ir is emmitted from this laser. until she is mature and understands the dangers of this laser keep it away from her.take the battery out and put it in a safe

@smok1nb3ast I am not sure how much ir that will put out. my lasers have ir filters on them and I dont have a laser power meter. I guess you could make a makeshift ir filter with one of these.

novalasers com. click on optics and scroll down. you will find the ir filter there

ir varies from laser to laser. adding the ir filter will reduce the power of the laser but it will be just as bright. it also might add some more divergance. just remember the ir stays by the dot and dont point at face
