The Nicotrol isn't ment to be used for years at a time. If people just switch to e-cigs instead of quiting, they could be using them for decades, and since they've only been out for a short time we can't know what the long term effects are.

I happen to like seeing the opinion of a doctor who isn't being paid off to promote e-cigs.

Stop being tards guys. How hard is it to figure out that when he says we don't know the effects of inhaling nicotine, that he means that we don't know what the dangers of nicotine alone are?

Yes people have been smoking for hundreds of years, but much of the harm caused comes from the other shit people are inhaling, so we don't know what the health effects of smoking ONLY nicotine are. Likely they're much less, but we can't assume that they're zero.

very much liked your comment. I think Dr. Gupta ignored, purposefully, that for 1000s of years the only form of nicotine was the inhaled one. Other expensive forms came in the past 20 years.

He keeps saying no one knows what inhaling nicotine will do to the body...I think we do know as people have been inhaling nicotine for centuries by smoking tobacco. The carrier liquid is the same as is used in nebulizers for people with lung issues to help them breathe. The nicotine itself is FDA approved as are the flavors. What is missing is the other 4000 chemicals including the carcinogenics found in tobacco cigarettes. It would be nice if they would learn before they talk about a subject.

I quit a 35-year cigarette habit by using electronic cigarettes. I still use nicotine, but without the cancer-causing chemicals in tobacco smoke.

I tried several cheaper models, then moved up to the Provari made by Provape. I quit tobacco easily because the Provari is more enjoyable than tobacco smoke.

Ecigs worked to break the habit of nearly a lifetime of smoking stinking cigs. Wish they had researched more before they do a segment on it. When the "Dr." encourages us to get on Antianxiety pills, he should put the side effects of prescription pills & how addictive they are. @BLU3SBR0THA Look up "Nicotrol"... It is a nicotine inhaler marketed by Pfizer. It is FDA approved and much the same as an e-cig... only it tastes awful (no flavoring) and it costs a lot of money. Why is Nicotrol okay, but e-cigs are bad? BTW, Nictotrol provides a 10mg dose... just a teaser for a smoker. I quit smoking using e-cigs at an 18mg dosage. I also noticed I now "vape" much less than I smoked and my cravings are almost gone.

There are a couple things I disagree with...

First: It's definitely not smoke. It's a water vapor!!! It similar to the output of a fog machine, but it smells a lot better :)

Second: $100??? I have purchased a few kits from various vendors, Blu, Totally Wicked, and Volcano (by far the best), and none of them even came close to $100, Never buy one from a gas station or mall kiosk. they're far more expensive and they're junk.

Unfortunately there's a little misinformation here. If you do some exploring and research, you can quickly find quality personal vaporizers for MUCH, MUCH, less than hundreds of dollars. If you know where to go, it's vastly cheaper than smoking, as well as vastly more tasty.

After decades of smoking, my wife and I quit by using e-cigs. They're wonderful! I have to point out one HUGE error! Google "nicotine inhaler" and you will find an FDA approved nicotine inhaler from Pfizer. Nicotine HAS been tested and approved for inhalation so he is flat WRONG on this! Brand name, Nicotrol. Government wants to control, i.e. tax, this soooo bad and big pharma wants e-cigs banned for their own reasons as well. $o why did this "doctor" lie?

@KripDrip E-cigs have been on the market for ten years now... Here in the U.S. they've been available for roughly four years. No adverse effects reported so far, other than a big hit to big tobacco's wallet because e-cigs make it so easy to quit smoking. My wife and I quit in August by switching to e-cigs, as have some of our friends... One friend even tried Chantix, but it had horrible side effects... but the FDA says Chantix is safe for $ome rea$on.
