  • "Some people marry for love. We have to marry to bloody stay in this country" is what I remember from a Frank Chickens gig.

  • I love it! First heard it on the Annie Nightingale show and I couldn't stop laughing. When you're not watching them, you can hear the edge creeping into their voices. By the end it sounds as though they're grinding their teeth as they start yet another verse. There's some humourless dickheads leaving comments on these pages. Why don't you all go and play with traffic, preferably in the rush hour.

  • this is on the radio at the moment. i was hoping i'd never hear it ever again after the last time. it's the most annoying bastard ever.

  • 雪村いずみからこのグループにたどり着きました。ともかく、面白い。

    家中で大笑いしました。

    イギリスで、受けていたとのことですが、その後は?

    もっと見たいものです。

  • John Peel played both the Frank Chickens and Field Marshal Slug and in 1984 they performed together in Cardiff that year and you never had two more diverse sounds on the same stage, Srange?

  • They look like two dykes

  • @zefat111 and so what if they do you fucking idiot twat

  • tweet tweet tweet

-- as a recurrent, ever-more menacing key phrase: somebody in the house please second "ahead of their time"?

  • I don't care who wins the Comedy God Poll - probably rather it was this lot than any of the big names, but let's be honest... this is just wacky art school crap. It would only be heralded as Godlike by art students and those tossers with "look at me" moustaches that hang around Brick Lane looking for vintage clothes. Sh*te, in other words. That said, good luck to them...

  • @Geshreeyeh

    Summed it up perfectly

  • But I genuinely think they are the best act in contention for the comedy prize. So if I want to cast a protest vote against the competition, what should I do now? Can I vote for CAMRA as next year's sponsor so people don't get brainwashed into thinking the only beers they can drink are different varieties of chemical piss?

  • If you too hate corporate sponsorship of the arts and comedy, vote for Frank Chickens on the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Awards and let the producers of Aussie piss know where they can get off...

  • @silverbullit733 I'm not interested in the protest, I just love Frank Chickens. Have done ever since I first heard them on the John Peel Show. This song is great.

  • they're basically cocorosie

  • This is far better than we are Ninja. See why Peely liked them.

  • Is this like the 5'6'7'8'S??

  • so whats the story where these guys from and history etc?

  • Quick Chickenhistory: Championed by John Peel (RIP) early in their career, two minor hits in 1984 (We Are Ninja & Blue Canary) then criminally overlooked for next 20 years or so... The Frank Chickens / Kazuko Hohki still performing & fantastic!! Have added sites for more info.
