You cant compare these two goalies because they play such a different game. In the net Luongo is much better because he plays his position and knows everything there is to know, Hasek never played his position, he was just a fish out of water in the net and hoped he saved the puck. For his day, Hasek was an amazing goaltender, very unique style, but when it comes down to it he just played a blocking reaction style, and would use limbs to block the puck.

Luongo is a modern day blocking reation goaltender that calulates his angle, square and depth using the butterfly as his primary save selection to cover as much net as possible.

Wow, thats tough. Hasek has done what most goalies can't do, win the MVP ( Hart ) Trophy.

But Luongo has lead the Vancouver canucks to 2 playoff appearences in his last 3 years here. The canucks are not even close to the redwings and yet they beat the wings. There's a reason why osgood was used in last years playoffs, and luongo was injured for most of the season.
