Actually all the Dual cam Hondas up untill 1997 were light and fast. I've raced several of them and if they are moded they are hard to beat even when i have a lot more HP over them. The new civics are slow. Very slow compared to the old DX's

Though the torque of the V8 should have had him off the line, they would have been even in the end anyway since Honda's power is always in the top end (VTEC-y0!). if you put a car that weighs 2000lbs with 200hp and 200trq against a car that weighs 4000lbs with 400hp and 400trq the race is dead even because the have the same power to weight ratio.
this is my point. the honda isn't at any disadvantage simply because the mustang has more power. anyways, i'm not gonna judge a book by its cover. in other words i don't know exactly what these two had under the hood, and i'm not gonna assume either one can beat the other. that's the entire purpose of racing, is to find out.
i'll be the first to tell you, hondas are VERY reliable and if nothing else we'll pass your mustang 50 miles later at the gas station.

i have friends that drive hondas and with a bit more than quarter and a half tank they couldnt make it to miami from where i live which is 2hrs away when i made it with just a quarter tank of course i have 3.08 rear gears to which i cruise highway 75mph @ 2000rpms
and when i get my steeda aluminum pullies and electric cooling fan those mpgs are goin up trust on that ;)

the accords dont have a Type R of any sort. not for that year at least. the accord was probably running an H swap. i raced a v6 mustang before in a '92 accord that was just I/H/E, 5spd, and a couple other things and hung with the guy. mustangs arent the best thing since sliced bread. neither one of the cars need to be doing burn outs in the lane anyway. neither are running slicks.

I own a 1996 mustang gt, stock they have around 190rwhp. so eventhough is a v8 is not that fast. props for the honda. I fully build my motor and I dont think a honda all motor can beat me. But it didnt surprise me he got beat by a honda.
The first 4.6 stangs were shit, the 95 and behind that were 5.0 would beat the 4.6 even tho ford said it had the same output. My ass, my 94 5.0 pretty much stock shit all over another 4.6 mustang the other day in the highway.

The accord driver definitely has put some work into his car. f22 is not weak as hell. i had two both built at opp end of tuning. one w/gt42 the other was done 13:1. and both ate most any thing. but i will say the do like blowing up. so ok fine maybe a bit weak. lol. did it quite a few time during the turbo build. but yea that prob has a h22 or a f20b(11:1 2.0 version of h22) in it. either way its low to mid 14sec 1/4 passes with hardly anything other than bolt ons.

i have a friend that's got that same honda, and it's a 2.2L 16 valve SOHC (single overhead cam)
it's made for winding out. that v8 has more low end torque but that honda is just as fast.

I own a 1996 mustang gt, stock they have around 190rwhp. so eventhough is a v8 is not that fast. props for the honda. I fully build my motor and I dont think a honda all motor can beat me. But it didnt surprise me he got beat by a honda.

@alci0 Theirs always cons and pros with hatches and other type of cars. Hatches may have weight but they dont got length sedans are a bit heavy if you don't do weight reduction but they have length. My friend got a h22a in a accord sedan and he spanks up hatches and coupes because he did some weight modifications and he shit aint even boosted. And plus who wants to be in a cramped car that cant even fit some hoes when you leave the race track just for a couple pounds less.

@xxxXW4NT3DXxxx I wouldn't say that. There's no way a stock accord should ever be able to beat an 8 cylinder mustang, even if the mustang is much heavier. The accord driver definitely has put some work into his car. Stock, that mustang is still pretty quick, and the fact that an accord (that has half the amount of cylinders) beat it is impressive, whether you want to admit it or not.

f22 is not weak as hell. i had two both built at opp end of tuning. one w/gt42 the other was done 13:1. and both ate most any thing. but i will say the do like blowing up. so ok fine maybe a bit weak. lol. did it quite a few time during the turbo build. but yea that prob has a h22 or a f20b(11:1 2.0 version of h22) in it. either way its low to mid 14sec 1/4 passes with hardly anything other than bolt ons.

-gets in 91 CB7 coupe- -gets on track- -engage SPORT MODE on gear shift lever- get ready for a hell of a time lol. These CB7s with a couple of mods or motorswap are pretty fast. You can do a 5 cylinder swap from the vigor (option on the CB in Japan) and tune that up. 4WS was an option too...these are true sleepers...in the right hands. I hate it when beaners get a hold to CBs..they end up as horrible rice projects

This video makes no sense, the honda must have been modified in some way. A 93' accord does 0-60 in 10.1, while a 96 mustang GT does 0-60 in 6.7.
