@audreyrocks111 No She was too old to play Annie, but she did play in Thomasina in 1963, and she played with Matthew Garber in that movie and another movie in I believe 1967 called The Gnome Mobile. Whe I was younger, I thought they were really brother and sister.

Matthew died the year I was born. I've always said these two kids were perfect for this movie, and his parts were so funny and cute. Karen is such the prettiest little angelpuff. My heart just broke a little.

Sometimes I forget they're really older than I am. 21 the year I was born? WOW He would be fifty two right now!

It is a shock to think that Matthew Garber is gone. Such a talented young man he was! I wish that I was able to see pics of both Matthew and Karen as they grew up.

They were so talented and quite believeable as Jane and Michael Banks.

Karen Dotrice is still very pretty. She has two sisters Michele, (Betty) in Some Mothers Do Ave Em and Yvette,, who was quite a regular in Crossroads in the early 70s, in which she appeared with their mother, actress Kay Dotrice. Kay died recently, and I am not sure if their father Roy is still alive. Karen is now married with children. Look on the websites and you will see her as she looks now.

Maybe they are saying "Mommy" because they're American! Since when do we pretend to be English just because we're talking about someone English? That doesn't make sense. And this is coming from me, an American who loves all things English -- the literature as well as the phrases, spellings and words that are different from American English.

Matthew Garber, who played Jane's younger brother Michael, died in obscurity in 1977 at age 20. The official cause of death was hemorrhagic necrotizing pancreatitis (bleeding pancreas), a complication of hepatitis that he contracted in India a year earlier, most likely from eating tainted meat. His body was cremated and his parents both died within the following decade.
