I don't think it's creepy. I think it's creepy because you can't get a 24 year old. I don't see the big deal with age differences. If 2 people can be happy, why make age an issue?
Lets face it, society does deem it "creepy" when there is a large age difference in relationships. But, I guess the real issue is not really the 18 year age difference, but rather that he was married when he was chasing her around the table. Morally it's acceptable to date someone older/younger as long as you are both consenting adults. But it's morally reprehensible to chase around women half your age when you have an ailing wife at home that waited 5 years for you to come back from the war.

I don't think it's creepy. I think it's creepy because you can't get a 24 year old. I don't see the big deal with age differences. If 2 people can be happy, why make age an issue?

Lets face it, society does deem it "creepy" when there is a large age difference in relationships. But, I guess the real issue is not really the 18 year age difference, but rather that he was married when he was chasing her around the table. Morally it's acceptable to date someone older/younger as long as you are both consenting adults. But it's morally reprehensible to chase around women half your age when you have an ailing wife at home that waited 5 years for you to come back from the war.

I am not arguing that society doesn't deem it "creepy." I'm arguing that there isn't a true reason to believe so. I do think the details of this divorce and second marriage are quite reprehensible.

It is creepy..only people with low morals support this type of relationship because this type of relationship is only about lust not love how can a 42 year old guy relate to a 24 year old they cant only through sex..as you can see in one of cindy mccains interviews they didnt even know each others age until they got married. Mccain is in immoral person that why he is careless about starting wars.

using your logic it would be ok for a for a 24 year old to date an 88 year old. Its just fact the older you get your values, beliefs, mind, and body change and this is a physiological fact. When there is such a big gap in age the emotional relationship that exists is usually extremely maladaptive like a relationship based on sex in mccains case. There is a reason that that society thinks it is "creepy" because in really is sick. They didnt even know each others ages and got married...

No, my logic states:
1. Society deems it creepy.
2. You don't know what is in 2 people's heart.
The fact that very few to no 88 year olds go out with 24 olds is because most people do have those differences you state. However, there could be genuine exceptions. Your idea that in this case the 42 year old and the 24 year old can't make it is your assumption that exceptions cannot exist.

For some people, years in captivity might make you love your family even more....I can't even imagine how he's children felt when he left them for a young rich woman, after the years waiting for them to come home.

Maybe it sounds bad, but I don't really care that McCain did this. We can make up stories about what was going through his mind or what his intent was, but we don't actually know. I am sure McCain changed a lot too while a POW, not just his wife. So I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
What does bother me, however, is that he apparently thought he could just lie about it and that it wouldn't come around to bite him later. That is just stupid.

Fortunately, Carol McCain survived this horrible accident. Much respect to her. Kinda suspicious is this bond with "Ronald & Nancy" though.
My 13 year old daughter is kinda smart-ass. But she just said maybe the accident wasn't "just an accident". I'm not sure if she (or me, for that matter) understands it (in part or whole), or if she's just mocking me. But,... interesting.
