I lived in Calgary for two years and always got a kick out of how Canadians think Americans are so patriotic, when in fact, Canucks are head and shoulders above us in acts of patriotism. Not a bad thing either, but I always found it to be pretty amazing how the pot was calling the kettle black.

Just goes to show how immature he is, and you are. Doing a good job on one's own anthem is fine, but butchering (or celebrating someone else butchering) the others' anthem is nothing to be proud of.
