i have this exact issue. on a ocd quad core and a ocd gtx 470. game is beautiful and runs good but the lag is TERRIBLE. almost unplayable. in other games i found turning off anti aliasing can fix similar issues, but there is no aa setting i can find :P
I have the same problem with this game. Specs: AMD Phenom II x6, 8 gigs ram, Crucial SSD, XFX Radeon 6970, still lags BIG TIME. One thing that seems to helps is turning down your mouse sensitivity. Feels a little less "synthetic" that way, to me.
The reason for the excessive input lag is because of the deferred rendering system and the plethora of post-processing effects built into the graphics engine. All those layers of post-processing effects increase the amount of input lag by virtue of the GPU being forced to calculate so many things at once. Killzone 2 had a similar problem with input lag and sluggish controls.
HAS ANY ONE GOT A SOLUTION? because I seriously will stop playing crysis2 because of it... honestly, its to that point where I get kills because of luck :(
probably just a sucky console port, i have a problem with crysis 2 that it feels like my mouse is skipping frames or something when i pan left and right at certain areas.
Core i5-750, 4 GB Ram, 120 GB SSD, 2 TB HDD, HD 4890 (OCed to 900 MHz)
Anyway, old games (on old underpowered computers) do not have input-lags. They get choppy only. Why do modern games all have this problem? It's like they are eating all resources for the GFX and leave nothing for the keyboard+mouse.
@Willma151 Because I play with arrow keys. Weapons are all on the key-pad, jump is on shift, use on enter, crouch on ctrl. I really like it that way and hate WASD.
@aVoNgfx Ah, I see. Well I don't know if you'd be entirely interested or not, but I use a Belkin (Razor) n52te Speed pad thing, it's really comfortable and replaces WASD/arrow keys to a degree.
The thing is not that WASD is somehow arranged badly. I just started with the arrow keys and using SHIFT/CTRL for jump/duck, the DEL/POS1/PGNUP/PGNDWN keys for some special abilities (e.g. suit) and the numpad completely for guns (KP_DEL = reload, everything else numeric is for weapon slots) is a lot easier to control in my eyes. I do not need to move my hand as much as I would when using WASD and the keys 0 to 9 as example.
Turn off trilinear filtering and VSYNC. That helps some. I still get some control lag though,
