  • a friend of mine was on that ship and is trying to find out about any reunion that might be happening this year or any one else that was on it..plz let me know if anyone knows anything/anyone

  • really sad :(

  • IT SOUNDS SO WEIRD HEARING THAT 'FROM NOW ON, ALL DOORS MUST BE CLOSED BEFORE LEAVING PORT' !!! I KNOW WE LIVE IN AN OVERPROTECTIVE 'RISK ASSESSMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY GONE MAD' KINDA WORLD NOW, BUT BLOODY HELL, NOT HAVING THAT KIND OF PROTOCOL IN PLACE WAS MADNESS, AS THIS SAD DAY PROVED. GOD REST THOSE POOR PEOPLE

  • "Over 200 people died" it was actually 193.

  • Why am I watching this? I'm going on a cruise in 2 weeks :/

  • Your 24 years late.

  • Im only one of truck drivers that done Int driving, i used this ferry appox 3/4 times a week!!!, god i was bloody lucky, and belive it or not, still in the same job, some of the trucks that went down, (dont know about the drivers).. were back on the road again a few months later..., and as for the Bow doors open, they ALWAYS were, all about money, quick turn around, as it came out a few months later, the person that had to close them, wasnt even on the car deck!!!, god bless all the ppl that we.

  • Real shame, I travelled on that ferry in 1985.

  • I had travelled on the Herald of Free Enterprise a couple of times.

  • Like if you are still here from Vsauce.

  • It was all to do with saving money, they opened the doors on the way in so the unloading of vehicles was faster. I stood on the car deck a few times watching the water splashing up around the front and always thought it was a risk. It was common practice as crews didn't observe any Health & Safety Laws, so put a lot of people in danger regularly.

It was only a matter of time before something like this happened. Very sad that it takes something like this to change company greed.

  • This made me sad... :(

Please post more dancing midgets and monkeys to make up for it!

  • difficult to masturbate to.

  • @NadadouroDave but not impossible.

  • I feel a bit like a sick bastard for clicking "Like" on something like this . . .

  • can't imagine how difficult and scary it is to get out of a ship on it's side

  • Just like the Vasa.

  • @akawhut Just went to Stockholm for Christmas and saw the Vasa! Amazing ship!

  • Trois couleurs: Rouge anyone? Brilliant film.

  • I remember this disaster well.

  • Is this what started 'Ferry Aid'?

  • A week before my first birthday.

  • I know it's bad and all but his pronunciation of Zeebrugge is hilarious.

  • @Phoenicopterus1

That's the British pronunciation of 'Zeebrugge'...

  • @geffel well ok, somehow that doesn't change it's hilariousness

  • Why are people saying history repeating itself this and the Italy ship happened 2 diff ways morons

  • A few days ago in Italy the "Costa Concordia" did the same thing :|

  • :(

  • its really sad to see history repeating itself...

As tragic as it is this gives always a little faith back in humanity because there are true heroes who show themselves in such events.

  • @FoxrainFuture - Yeah, like boats will stop turning over some day?

  • @BayviewFinch No but probably will people care more about safety of their passengers than anything else some day. Many of these tragic events could have been prevented that way.

  • @gkidcj not literally, but SOPA would likely to wipe more than half of the videos of youtube mainly those copyrighted stuff posted here.

    BUT FUCK IT!!

    FUCK SOPA NONETHELESS!

  • @gkidcj lol retard they are not going to "remove youtube" silly thumbwhore!

  • @IKNOWITSADUMBCOMMENT yes they are you idiot you know nothing about it

  • @gkidcj did you saw this video?:

    /watch?v=-LEb_D2SD3k&list=FL2BGSAkdXHIsFzuUzws1Hrw&index=1&feature=plpp_video

if not, well do, please rate it up and fav it for bigger spread

  • @gkidcj only shut it down not remove it .....

  • @gkidcj Idiot, they won't remove it. Yes there will be vids on youtube to be removed BUT THIS WILL NOT BE ONE OF THEM. British pathe does not violate any laws of SOPA.

  • @finnsia you say that and I think you are right, don't get me wrong.

But I watch NBC News in Britain (yes I am wierd) and it is strange what I can't watch for supposely copyrighted reasons, ie Gaddiffi's death and Kim Jong's funeal and someone who had a stroke at the South Pole. Bar the last one the rest were carried on ITV earlier in the day.

  • @mellonmarshall There can't be any copyright reasons, if anything that sounds like pure censorship. Maybe they're showing what they the people/audience to hear.

  • @finnsia that is what is given as the reason behind it, eveytime

  • @gkidcj fag

  • @gkidcj SOPA and PIPA are already defeated bro! ...

  • @SpeedMjam NO its not bro, learn how the government works...

  • @SpeedMjam oh, thats a relief :D

  • @SpeedMjam so what ? ACTA isn't defeated.

  • @finnsia I never said it is! o.O

  • @SpeedMjam you said the other 2 were

  • @finnsia Yeah. AND?!

Just because I said SOPA and PIPA were defeated YOU (and NOT ME!) assume that I'm also talking about ACTA, which is not true!

  • @gkidcj Actually British Pathe owns all these videos.
