  • "Librarians are always stuck in the library, so we're not much for earth traveling...just YouTube posting, I guess." Librarians also have vacations!! I ve been earthtravelling for the last 3 weeks and Im a librarian!! haha THanks for posting this video!

  • hello there,I suggested this song as the anthem of my college course :)

  • There in the book pile

    one shameful tale sits untold

    so long overdue

  • Favorite part: B-O-O-K-S. Some of you know what that spells.

I really wish I could just play this when people start complaining about their .15 fines and how the lib. shouldn't charge overdues. Very well done.

  • I love this song! I work overdues and suspensions at my library; my whole job revolves around people not bringing their books back :)

  • nice cross harp. i wish i knew how to play harp... someday, lol

  • I always wanted to be a librarian and even more so after hearing this song 5 stars.

  • Thanks for the comment Chris. I think the world would be a better place if we were all librarians, although a bad blues-playing librarian (or librarian playing blues badly) is probably pushing the limits of acceptability.

  • uhm..., hhaha i play the blues badly and study LIS in germany. i agree on ur 1st point though ;D

  • this is very clever. hilarious.

  • Thanks Earth person traveler. I appreciate the comment and your very forgiving approach to the song. It was the very first video I ever put up on YouTube, so I wasn't sure if non librarians would get this. I assume you're a non librarian since you're an earthtraveler. Librarians are always stuck in the library, so we're not much for earth traveling...just YouTube posting, I guess.

  • can you give me the hamonica tabs of the song please????

i've been searching them for a long time

    btw:nice song;)

  • Hi Haliowns: thanks for the comment. I'll try work up something in the way of harmonica 'tabs' for this, although it's fairly standard John Lee Hooker type of repetitive riff, and there's a lot of faking and pretending that I actually know what I'm doing. So if I give you the tabs, you'll have to fill in a lot of the blanks with your own pretend riffs. Give me some time and I'll try send you those tabs, at least for the basic harmonica riff.

  • thank you

  • if u need tabs for that u shouldnt be playing the harp

  • "tennyson - collected poems" - fake alligator binding - overdue for ... ooo ... 45 years - whom-i-gonna'call?

  • Yup, I know exactly the book you're talking about. There have been a few requests for that book, but less and less requests as the years pass. What . . . are you about half-way through the book? I'm guessing you're a slow reader (nothing wrong with that). Return it when you're done reading it, okay? (in another 45 years or so). Then we'll take your fine off of it, and you can go back to living a guilt-free life once again, at long last.

  • =O

    i wana play that :D

    realy goog

    the blues...great song's

    it's prety ^^

    sorry for my bad english

  • what key is the harmonica?

  • The harmonica is in the key of A . . . the guitar key is in E (chords alternate between E and A, the I & IV chords).

  • haha i like it

  • Thanks hanzy...I'm still working at editing your Google dancers into my Google Mojo song...maybe some year I'll get it done and posted. I'll let you know.

  • Hilarious!

  • "Some of you know what that spells..." Bwahahahahaha!! I love it. I am going to cover it and play it over the PA system at my school at the end of the term!

  • Thanks for taking the time to comment. Double check your spelling (B-O-O-K-S) before performing this live, and remember 'books' rhymes with 'took' which rhymes with 'crooks'. The possibilities for an extended jam version of this song are limitless with this basic, can't-miss rhyme scheme.

  • i'll never return a book late again!

  • i'll never return a book late again!!!

  • okay....

  • It also appeals to English teachers who help run guitar clubs in high schools, so you hit that demographic, too. Great job! This is destined to be a classic in the growing library-blues genre.

  • This video is awesome! Just think of all the songs you can write just from your experiences at work......Keep the videos coming!
