the only real way to find out what your audio is like is to get another station to record your transmission with a digital recorder and transmit it back.
Is the TS590 monitor circuit before or after the IF? would make a massive difference. The only way you should do the comparison would be to use separate receiver with the band width equal to the TX band width of the radio.Monitor circuit
is not a fair comparison test .Use a dummy load with a separate receiver would be the best comparison test
Haha - yeah fully agree with your comments. Problem was when I made the recordings I should have set-up each mic in terms of processor in, processor out - so its not a real true comparison in that respect which is why the standard mic is so much louder than the others. On the PR-40 after I have now spent ages 'eq'ing' it up it sounds a lot better, so very happy.
I have to say that I think the MC43 sounds best. I have the 590 and was wondering if I should get the MC90. Ithink I'll just keep using the MC43. Thanks for the comparisons.
@N9LVG Hi - thanks for the comments. Its interesting, one person says one mic is the best, another says another is the best. Same as on air. In that recording - I think the MC-90 sounds best but I am sure it is just a matter of eq-ing the mics - I know it is a real can of worms TX audio for us hams. Anyway, greetings from London :)
Make the microphone test with another receiver, not with monitor audio.

Loved this upload you have done!!! lol
Hello Radio..Time to play radio
My opinion
1 - was not good because it sounded like it needed a decent windshield
2 - softer and better than mike 1
3 - Mc90 base mic sounded ok nice and clear.
4 - Clear more rounded audio than the MC90.PR40 is used n the bands but people turn the bass up and make a mess..
goodbye Radio....

the MC-90 sounds the best only just then the Heil PR40, either would do and as was said just a little eq'ing would make them even better.
