I uysed to catch mullet in a 3ft cast net, only catch was that you had to know they were there, like they had to be visible, otherwise they'd be too deep and get away too fast. I miss Florida now....

Those mullet are nowhere near big. If you want to see big mullet, go to Ginnie Springs or Pine Island and those mullet will destroy a brand new net instantly. My biggest so far was probably around 6 lbs, but I've seen much bigger ones that are nearly impossible to net even while opening up my 14 footer. The largest mullet that I've seen was probably 10 lbs., and scared off an entire flat of predatory fish. (snook, reds, a blacktip, and a porpose)

Lol did he eat them or just play with them? You appear to be in freshwater. The mullet in freshwater where I live in Fl are good to eat unlike mullet elsewhere that swim so far upstream that they end up in sewage water. Im about to buy a castnet for them since they can't be caught by rod

No, he wont eat them. He will play with them for a while. After that I will put them back in the water and they will swim off. They are very strong and can be out of the water for over an hour. The water is brackish and home to mullet, pin fish, minnows, shad, shrimp, blue crabs, etc.. Get a cast net! Lots of fun.
