I love Hayden, I known his music with the album Skycraper national park (this song is in). This song is one of my favorite, beautiful voice, I like the end of the song too.

I came across Hayden in 1996. Somehow or another a promo cd of everything I long for made its way to my high school college Center in south central los angeles in California. I liked the nameof the first track and took it. I played it when I got home and fell in love with bad as they seem. Now in 2011 I am in a band and wanted to cover a hayden song and came across this one and fell for hayden once again.
I remember I got this as a free download when I plugged my ipod in for the first time and this was the only song I kept of the 7 free downloads. Ive been looking for this song for years cuz my library got erased and Im so glad I found this again
I've been a fan since the album he recorded in his bedroom at his parents house up here in Toronto. He has always had a great innocence about him in his song writing and I think that's one of the things that appeals to me the most about his music. I also think that why when I read comments on here you see things like "I stop and smile." He has a great familiarity to his music and it really does feel like home when you put on a Hayden record. He is a true talent.
This man owns a piece of my heart. Always will. Has gotten me through so much.... So interesting how that can happen and he'll never know the depth of his impact upon my life. That's okay. He'll pay it forward to blessings if not in this life, then future lives.
This man owns a piece of my heart. Always will. Has gotten me through so much.... So interesting how that can happen and he'll never know the depth of his impact upon my life. That's okay. He'll pay it forward to blessings if not in this life, then future lives.
this is his best hands down....i'm only really familiar with a handful of his songs but this has always been the best one i've ever come across---and well it still is...but it doesn't matter.
I am from Thornhill, as Hayden is, and everytime I drive up north I think of think of this song. It captures the mood, and the details of that drive, perfectly.
Though until recently I hadn't heard this song or even heard oh Hayden, there's just something about it that makes stop and smile. The first time I heard it I had a flood of memories from my childhood and my life since then, growing up. Though I hate to admit it I felt a sort of sadness at having forgotten all of those moments. It brought tears to my eyes; tears of joy and tears of yearning. This song made me look back to those carefree years and realize that every moment of life is beautiful.
@tamminga28 well said. I remember listening to this back when I was in high school. wrapped in so many emotions. here i am now, sitting w/ my wife playing songs of our past. our memories can be a peaceful bliss that can evoke such strong emotions.
This song was on my Real Player, I love it! But there was another song on there! And for the life of me I can't remember the name... Does anyone else maybe have an idea of what it was called or who it was by? I know there weren't that many... on the real player... Help me? ^.^
I love the song, and I love the video, but I just wish the video wasn't the edited version of the song. I know it's long, but come on...the middle is such a beautiful mess, and it's a shame to cut it out.
Arguably the best song i ever heard. I have requested it at my funeral. It brings back a wave of emotions, brilliant. I don't think he has matched it before or since but i am still a huge Hayden fan

awesome, he played a show at great scotts in boston last year and we talked briefly afterwards. very down to earth and human, which is what makes his music so special..it hits so close to home
such a great track. brings to mind long late night drives on hwy 401. great climatic jam from 2:45 till round 4:00... such honest music..love hayden's music..

First time I heard of Hayden was Bad as it Seems on Much and after that I liked his music.
Especially Trees Lounge his guitar playing is unique and very mellow.
This song is a reminder of travelling with someone I miss.

This is shorter than the album version. But this flows better. Takes a little too long to develop on the album.
That said, I would have kept the intro part before the guitar solo. Otherwise it meshed real nice.
