The ring remake sucked the original was better, the grudge remake was so boring I fell asleep, the original was good and spooky and I've even seen the original japanese film and yes its better than the remake. I am a male who gets scared REALLY easily. When I watched this, almost nothing in this film made me scream, except for the end, where my sister, who, oddly enough, showed resemblance to the girl, grabbed me and looked me in the eyes and scared me like shit lol. Other than that, the movie sure made me jump, but nothing really to make me scream. To be honest, it just helped me find a new ringtone for my phone :)

Novelist and commentator Andrew Klavan is responsible for writing the script, and he admits it went bad. Also, when he went to see "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", he found out there was a joke in that movie about "One Missed Call" which made him squirm in his seat. Hehe. I love Klavan. Usually he's very good and very entertaining. Two of his novels were made into movies. (Don't Say A Word, True Crime). He also has cool youtube videos.

First they remade a film about a videotape containing a ghost, watch it and you're dead in a week; then ghosts invading the world of the living and killing people via internet and now a ghost sends a voice message on phone predicting the person's death two days later.

So he is disappointed in the movie and in how much it's hated, but he's being a good sport about it. Awesome personality.

It's funny that they mention this but there's a Japanese exclusive to wii game that's about a hunted website and who goes there will see dead I think that Japanese people know how much time their youth spends on the tech/net so they make it into horror but they shouldn't be remade only they know how to pull it of without it being someolbullshit. like Quarantine, the REC remake...? it basicly was the same movie, but the emotions the actors portrayed were sometimes totally off. i enjoyed it, but the original one had everythin spot on and was almost a perfect horror movie.

American horror movies often begin by first telling the COMPLETE STORY and often just add panicking characters, who scream at everything that moves... while european and asian horror expresses fear through lack of information and emotions.

Most of the american remakes of Japaneese films arent that good. Like the Dark Water remake. The Japaneese one was scary as hell and had a good ending. The american one was lame, it tried too hard to be gloomy and the ending was done stupid. I must say though good performances by Tim Roth and John C. Reily, but still the movie sucked. But america did do a good job on the RING.
