There's a small difference between these 2 trucks that put the advantage in Dodge's favor: Limited Slip Rear Differential.

The Old Ford didn't have it. The Dodge did. They have comparable torque. Horsepower is in favor of the Dodge. However, the primary difference was open versus LSD. I don't even think the Ford was in 4wd. My Ranger in 4wd with a 4.0 out pulled a 2wd 454, so traction is the primary difference between these units.

a stock powerstroke with just around 200hp against a hemi with over 300hp is not quite a fiar run but if u watch part one the ford woops the dodge so 50/50 ain't bad for the hp diffrences and as far as pulling something put something heavy behind them and pull up hill then see who is better but make sure it is a cummins against a powerstroke the powerstroke will when

ya but hp doesnt matter here its torque,and a diesel engine is around 450-500 ft,and higher thats just stock a gas engine only has about 300 -400 pound ft of torque depending on the engine size ,so ya for pulling hp doesnt matter ,torque does

no in this case it was a matter of horsepower, but in a different manner. the diesel should have won because of the torque, but many drivers floor it and lose torgue almost immediatley if there arent any mods. so when the diesel has no torgue, it enables a high horsepower gasoline engine to win because gassers abtain there power at high horsepower, so 345 HP vs 250 HP, the hemi gonna win. its all about drivers, the diesel should have won, but w/e.

my dad owned a 95 dodge 1500 till 2006 when he got a 2500 diesel but the 1500 never had any problems and he had 250,000mi on it. If you change the oil regularly and clean the gas filter every 100,000 or so and  it'll run till the frame falls off. on the other hand my uncle owns a early 90's ford f-150 and and owned it till about '03 and it had "issues", it could run but it was poor. i dont know how well he took care of it but he kept it in perrty good condition, it had bout 150-200,000mi in it

What do u mean? I owe an 85 ford truck, the engine has been NEVER repaired, and it has more than 285,000 miles on it.

I do have to accept that I would like to repair it, so I can have the "like new" compression that the engine must have, but it still runs perfect and doesnt needs to be repaired, doesnt consumes oil or anything.
