  • Final Scene Of The Sports Drama Film "Chariots Of Fire"(1980).

  • This really gives me Goose BumpsTHANKS

  • A song worthy of England. greeting from your overseas Dutch allies. x.

  • All people ever here is god save the queen because of football, i bet most british don't even know about these masterpieces as they have been overlooked! This has some nice structure to it unlike the boring repetitive god save our queen, and Britannia rules the waves that is another fantastic song, i bet most football supporters won't remeber the lyrics of either songs though after a couple of beers!

  • god save the quenn neednt always be a durge. for examle the rendition by the royal marines which can be found in the second part of the fanfare starting at 1.26 of the second half of their beating the retreat.

  • Well song sir.

  • this just makes me so proud to be british

  • this is a class song, the true english national anthem

  • So beautiful (Apart from the shit singing! lol)

I'm so proud of this country!!

  • Wonderful

  • When I watch and listen to this I wish I were British...

  • When I watch and listen to this I AM british :)

  • Me too!

  • your singing isn't bad at all :D:D

  • Thanks Mike!

  • brillaint. true brits

  • hmmmmmm

  • never fails to leave a lump in the throat.

  • BlueandWhiteZebra: Fantastic singing mate! I have been wanting to go to the last might of the proms for years, with my father. How do you get tickets? I tried a few years ago, but found it easier to get rocking horse S**T! Any ideas would be great?

  • Yes, find a seller on ebay with a couple of hundred feedbacks and pay through the nose. I paid 480 quid for two tickets. Alternatively try your luck on the night. The couple next to us just turned up and asked for return tickets and got lucky. Only 18 quid a head then! Good luck.

  • I live in New Zealand , My parents are both English , I associate this song with my mum as she went to a grammar school in Ashford County .

I work with a really cool english lady who said "it doesnt matter how bad you sing Jerusalem "

I am no way implying your singing is bad no way, I love the emotion and naturalness of your voices

  • I'm sorry to say Englanddownunder ,its no longer sung at morning assemblies & certainly not at the Grammar School I attended ,for a decade or more due to the disease of political correctness.

  • yes this same political correctness which has infiltrated New Zealand has media muppets such as Tony the dwarf Veitch and Murray Deaker preaching to us that English people are the enemy , the English people gave our country freedom of choice and a way of life where we can be ourselves without living in fear so Rule Britannia

  • Uhh, controversial....

  • Why's it controversial?

  • Of course it's controversial. Wanting to change the National Anthem to a more "republican" tune with no reference to our monarchy is a common debate with supporters from both sides making valid points. God Save The Queen is not ideal for thpse who are proud to be british but not happy living within a soveriegn state. THis upsets those who are. Ergo: Controversial!

For the record, my point of view is: "God Save The Queen!"

  • Here here rhinomatt stuff all this p c shit I'm English and proud of it. Bring em on the English are waiting!

  • The English anthem please!
