  • Nice commentary. Thanks for posting. I can't wait to get out on my first shifterkart this weekend (yz250 powered haase). Thumbs up for a cool vid. Kept my attention the whole way through.

  • Alan's right about gearbox karts becoming more pure than single gear ones, with the TAG "revolution".

There's few exceptions of engines that remain old school, easykart and X-30,but they are still spoiled by the clutches that will not allow the driver to attack old school style and drift the kart on the throttle, from fear he may brake something, and usually he will.

Not to mention the ROK and Rotax that have a very short rev band where anything useful happens.

Too bad 6 speeds are so expensive.

  • @aprilolliewill Its called shennington yes. Your mini max reached about 55mph. If you watch the video a gearbox kart using the faster longer straight 'only' got upto 79mph, theres no way you mini max only did 10mph less on a shorter straight

  • speak properly u english f@G

  • How much is a KZ?

  • @DizzyLinx depends on what u want.

    I got mine for 2500 euro's

  • Im english but live in Florida, most of the karts here are 2 stroke for sprint and road racing the dirt guys use 4 stroke, but im not into that, the rotax is a big class, and a new 4 stroke box stock class is growing very very fast as it is a cheap class to get into to for the sprint class. wish all you english karters well for the 2011 season.

  • wats der top speed?

  • @Jakwob888 160/170 km/h ,maybe on the highway xd

  • @Sanderrr1994

Had a K9C on 1/4 mile this year, but with a higher inlet nozle to prevent seizure. Ran 110 mph, and clocked in 13 seconds for the 400 meters from 0, With right carb setting It would have done 11 something and 120 mph

  • @sicracingdk nice:P

  • Question for any one that lives in the United States whats the difference between KZ2 and Honda Stock moto. I run a Stock moto.

  • @seroyer2

I think most of the US karts run 4 stroke engines and I know that european karts run 2 stroke engines.

  • @XiaoPow nope, at least on the west coast... the faster coast, all run 2 cycle

  • @vivaSchumi7

    That's cool.

  • Comment removed

  • @XiaoPow Thats not true, there is only one 4 stroke class here and that is world formula. Most people run Rotax Max just like Europe. the dirt oval and quarter midgets do run 4 strokes. but most of us west coaters do real racing where you turn both left and right. Our classes are would go 100cc yamha, world formula, Rotax Max, Stock motor shifters, 250, 250 twins. I can't think of outers right now. the 250's are for road racing you would never see them on a sprint track.

  • grüsse nach england

  • billys

  • not alot really, the K9 C's and KZ10's are quite similar but the KV95 was a rotary and these are reed :).

Between the KZ1 and KZ2 in england theres hardly any difference, except from the weight limit being 5 kg's lighter :)

  • Ooops! Meant TM K9!!

  • What's the difference between these KZ10's and the old KV95's?? Not raced since 2000.

  • Nice Test Alan, hope to end up in gearbox someday and hope it continues to grow.

  • Great video! Looks pretty scary the ol' 125 gearbox :) raahhh

  • I think as u turn into Hanger Corner when u nearly lost the back end at 70mph u coulda been more over to left before u turnt in, i think u would have got through the corner better if u had your left wheels over the white line.

  • Good to see another video. The voice recording sound quality is much better in this video too

  • whats the difints betwen kz1 and kz2

  • @kartkidd not much. Tyres is the main difference as far as I am aware but that depends what country you're in

  • The KZ1 i much faster

  • @TRMGP you know that there is no difference between kz2 and kz1 right?

Learn the facts, kz1 has difference rules, and tires.

    Engines are the same.

    Bullshit talk again

  • @Sanderrr1994 KZ1 and KZ2 engine rules identical except KZ1 allows electro mechanical gearbox control

    KZ1 170kg

    KZ2 175kg

KZ1 normally CIK Soft compound tyres

KZ2 normally CIK Medium compound tyres

  • @Sanderrr1994

you're the one that talks bull shit!!!

so are you telling me that the KZ1 and KZ2, are driving the exact same time on a track? i dont think so.!

and i was not only talking about the engine, I was talking about the regulations as well. such as the things you mentiont. but all these thing together makes them run a faster lap.

    end of storie

  • @TRMGP no, im saying that the engines are the same, the rules are different, i never said the lap times were the same

  • @Sanderrr1994 Yea that's right.. and if you read my first comment agan, you can see, i never said anything about the engines. i just said that they was faster. ??

and you start being offencive and say i talk bull shit?..

  • @TRMGP sorry if i sounded offensive, wasn't meant that way;)

  • @Sanderrr1994 thats okay then :)

  • nice one alan.. i would love to test one.!!!..

    good video, cheers

  • Thank you so much for these reports!

    I really enjoy them
