@chrizzle3124 : May I suggest you read "All Quiet on the Western Front" by Erich Maria Remarque - a German veteran's take on the war; or even "Gunner Depew" - by Gunner Depew - an Englishman/Frenchman's take on WWI; or any of hundreds of real - ink and paper - books written just after the hell of that war. Even for an 8th grade level effort, this is a poorly researched and written joke. Read, think, and watch about what really happened, then comment - dumbasses.
However, they played a primary role in the success of the allies and thus, were extremely necessary." Jeez, this sounds like some 8th graders class project. Disappointing take on the Great War in which neither side could be said to have won.
Is this video being narrated by a 5yr old? o.0 And exactly when did someone managed to will an M1 Garand into existing and have it be able to have a musket bayonet attach to it during WW1? Must have been the same guy to invent the Mor Tar, this guy must have been brilliant.
yes they did use machine guns but you can't honestly think that they were used and made for trench warfare bec the y were many years before such like the civil but not used in them then. I love history and world war one and world war 2 are the most exciting to learn about. world war one with it's domino affect and ww2 with its taking after world war 1 but i do say that world war 2 was a near loss sadly. gladly tho the triple entente if they were still called that one not the Nazi's.
1. Infantry were armed with; rifles in the main, a number of hand grenades, sword/knife bayonets (except French Lebel), light machine gunners (varied per platoon/company) Both sides used specialist weapons such as machine pistols and sub-machine guns, flamethrowers. Also toward the end some were armed a bag of grenades. In late 1917 rifled grenades (ancestor of noob-tube) as well as 2 man portable machine guns to carry forward.
Oddly, the Spanish Flu killed more troops than any of those weapons. More fighting men died from illness and infections than gunshots, poison gas, or fragmentation.
Good effort. Research more. Review the comments, as the majority are valid. It's the way one improves oneself. You uploaded a piece, where most would never dare.
not bad. was this a school project? and isn't it amazing the kind of nutty comments you get on youtube? I mean, "two shiny shitts"? anyway, good work.
its just a cool fact, i think not many people know this, as they wouldnt imagine up close war in ww1 on western front, but it happened.
in ww1, after u capture the enemies trench, not all of them will run out to the next trench. they would have set up maces, axes, hammers, etc.. the soldiers even used their hand held spades (small shovels)
Americans like to use the Trench Gun, a power ful pump action Shotgun
you'r clearly not very clever pal 'cos if you were you would've read what I wrote and said "oh yeah 1918, sorry not 1917 at all" but you didnt and started banging on about an M1Garand again. I dont give two shiny shitts about the fuckin gun, I wansn't disputing that pal, im sure your right. At least get the basics right when posting. And if your gonna insult me do it properly
artillery, mortar and machineguns were all very effective weapons during world war one but machinegun was the mostdevastating weapon, artillery was not as effective because it was horribly inaccurate it was mostly used to try and soften up the enemy defences by knocking holes in barbed wire then the infantry would run ahead. But ussually there were only a few holes in wire so the men often had to march single file right into enemy fire.
ok first of all your facts are all blown to hell 75% of all WW1 casualties came from shrapnol. Which leaves the other casualties to rifles and machine guns. You had one primary weapon not 2 this isnt call of duty. And maybe a pistol if your a luck NCO or if your an officer. The rifle u showed was an M1 Garand witch didnt enter service until 1936. The average German soldier was equiped with a mauser GEW 98 rifle NOT A SHOTGUN.
It'd be a bit different, but not much; Russia and the US were major power houses destined to come out on top no matter what. If Hitler had been at the Somme or died there, I would imagine the worl das much as the same, except much more accepting to right-wing/fascist/nationalistic ideals.
NECESSARY? What a ridiculous conclusion. The Germans were no more barbaric than were the "allies", an entirely self-serving epithet. What a shame you came to such a simplistic conclusion.
No, it wouldn't be hell. Germany was really not any different from France or Britain at the time. Just a different language, really. I mean, Kaiser Wilhelm II was the Queen's nephew.
The Germany in WWI was imperialist, just like France and Britain. It was also the most racially tolerant nation at the time, per capita. So, it's safe to say that we would not be speaking German, as the Germans were not speaking French by the end of the first war.
Where you're getting the notion that Germany was/is evil is beyond me. I, and every Historian, can't see how their winning the war would be Hell.
Hitler rose to power becuase Germany lost the first war, and was in such a shitbox becuase of their screwy economy. They'd inflated their economy to compensate for a lack of physical Deutschmarks, which was a dumb move.
Hitler rose up because he preyed on the weaknesses within society. He gave answers to the people's questions, whether or not they were the right ones, it doesnt matter.
Point is, the 'evil' Germany came out of the end of WWI, not the beginning. If Germany won WWI, I would imagine Europe would be much the same as it is today.
Imperial Germany had no wish for world domination. And with the Empire still intact, Hitler would have been a simple radical that would have been smote by the might of the Kaiser(who was dethroned after the war for losing).
Well, if all the European countries were in the German Empire, most of them would have been better off, honestly. Besides that, there wouldn't be much of a difference. It would most likely be like the EU is right now, 'cept with a King/Kaiser/Emperor, and Deutschmarks instead of Euros.
u obviosly have no knowlege of the first world war, they were imperialist then not facsist if Germany wasnt forced to negotiate an armistist during ww1, and they had won the war Hitler would have never came to power ww1 and ww2 are not 2 separate wars just a mear continuation of the same war.
Uh, yeah I do know about ww1, I can write u a whole document and it and it would be accurate, and also, i focus on the air fight in ww1, than that of the ground, but I DEFFINATALY have knowladge of ww1 on the ground
well artillery did cause a lot of deaths but more men did die from machine guns because more men were in the open and the germans or allied didn't open there artillery on the men they just shot them.
Nice vid alittle wrong at the start of WW1 "Trench warface" was used to hold for a advance/ and or defence against troops and cannon fire . this soon changed with the advancement of early day tanks and bomb dropping planes and by WW2 only a few times was the same type of trenchs were used with great losses since then only "Foxholes" are used
I can see you don't know alot about wapeons, First of all when you said rifle, you showed a M1 carambine =(ww2 wapeon), 2nd when you said bajonet you showed a wrong one, a world war 1 bajonet looks alot different. And a last thing, the shotgun was very limited by so far as I know.
