However I actually watched the whole thing with Hasselhoff on tv and it was better than I expected, if they replay it maybe you should watch the whole thing.
Jackson is an excellent actor ,but not right for the part of Fury, and for all of you sensitive people out there , it has nothing to do with him being black .
How is he not right for Nick Fury? They based the movie Fury off of the Ultimate version of the character. And that version of the character is based of Sam Jackson himself. I'm not relating this to race at all but I really don't understand your statement.
@InfernoXRonin Yes Sir I will explain , I base my idea on Nick Fury as the head of S.H.I.E.LD. AND a Sgt. from WW2 ( veteran ) The Ultimate version is some thing that is very new to me and I'm not that familiar to it that much. To me Nick Fury was the rough Pollack from Hell's Kitchen in New York , Not a smooth , slick stylish, modern day James Bond. Had they put Tom Cruise or a Brad Pitt I would be equally unhappy about it. Had it been a Bert Lancaster in his 50's I could accept that
That makes sense. You have a problem with how Nick Fury is written and portrayed as a character in the Ironman movies. I like Ultimate Fury but I can see why older comic book fans and new readers alike could favor the classic one.
@InfernoXRonin Oh and by the way I failed to mention the fact that when David Hasselhoff played the part of Fury in a movie made for TV back in the 90's I watched about 20 min of it, then turned it off. When I was a kid and the Batman series 1st came on I was disappointed . I was expecting something much more darker in character . Who knows maybe I'm just hard to please , but it was a pleasure in discussing this with you, take care .
@pubsterguy At least When Hasselhoff did it they died his sideburns so he'd look the part. I think Sam is a better actor but doesn't look like the Nick Fury from the comic books dating back to the early to mid 1960's. Batgirl in the comics was a blonde but then the Batman tv series started at new batgirl who was a redhead so was weird as use to a blonde. Then when everyone is use to her being a redhead they come out with Batman and Robin movie with her being a blonde again why?
@hydrolito I really didn't like hasselhoff either ha ha You probably think I'm just hard to please but hasselhoff I thought was too young for the part despite his dyed sideburns, I thought somebody ( but not neccessarily only him ) like burt lancaster or there abouts
@hydrolito Oh I forget to mention I really was looking forward to the Batman series when it 1st came on , Man was I dissapointed , I hated the series , it took over 23 years before they got it right !!
@pubsterguy I was looking forward to Misfits of Science and Covering Cross and they were both big let downs, also Lost in Space season one was pretty much straight scifi but 2 and 3 they turned into a commedy and was a let down. They also did this to Star Trek with Trouble with Tribbles and Harry Mudd episodes.
@InfernoXRonin The original Nick Fury in the comic books was a light skinned guy during world war 2. Samuel's a great actor and they could have said Fury retired and given his character a different name.
@hydrolito Well for starters he's from what I remember, to be crusty grumpy older guy from Hell's kitchen with more of a new york accent . People get all upset because people think it's racist, That's bull shit I'm just going by my memories as a kid who used to wait for the next Nick Fury agent of shield to come out .. I wouldn't want to see brad pitt play in a movie playing Paul Robeson , get my point ?
You can skip Fury in most of the rest of the marvel Flicks until Cap and the Avengers show up (wow an Avengers Flick, now if the jet could win a superbowl).
If anyone could and should hold out for money it is Sam Jackson. The man has put his dues in Hollywood and if anyone would help draw a crowd it's Sam Jackson. He deserves the extra money.
Yeah!!! Samuel L. Jackson's Back!!! Regardless the actor's earlier remark about the him not portraying the S.H.I.E.L.D. director, he reportedly signed a nine-picture deal with the studio to reprise his cameo role in Iron Man 2! The nine-picture deal contains an option for him to star as Nick Fury in "The First Avenger: Captain America", "Thor" and "The Avengers" as well as other potential sequels.
However I actually watched the whole thing with Hasselhoff on tv and it was better than I expected, if they replay it maybe you should watch the whole thing.

Agree Burt Landcaster would probably have made a better Nick Fury than Hasselhoff how is Hasselhoff old enough to be a World War 2 veterean?

Yeah, he's back, folks. For 9(!) Marvel movies. Probably bit parts in most of 'em, but I think he may get his own "S.H.I.E.L.D." flick.
