They're two different cars aimed at two different groups. The 370 is for sport, the IS350 is for the "I drive a Lexus! You drive a what? Oh. Well, that's nice too." person.
it'll be a close call, driver's race. Ya mess up on the 370z launch the IS350 will smoke it. Ya mess up on the IS350 launch the 370z will take the win. Both have similar 0-60's as well, 4.7 sec bone stock. But what makes the IS350 better is the much better quality interior and design. Outside of the IS350 looks better too. 370z looks ricey and sound like a fart can when it takes off.
This is a great car but it should not be put in the same class as the Mustang GT. Yes both cars are similairly priced, and both have similiar performance (370z being a bit quicker) but the 370z is a much higher quality machine with more technology, its lighter with aluminum body panels, its got massive brakes, ultra light wheels, even a carbon fiber drive shaft! Put performance aside and the 370z is a far superior machine when compared to the low tech, and crudely built ford mustang.

Anyways the new 370z is a very nice car i test drove one a couple months ago and its a HUGE improvement over the 350z i owned a 07 rev up 350. The new car has a super stiff chassis very good sports car for 31k.

To rev match for a downshift means to rev the rpms up to what it would be if it was in the certain gear. doing so will smooth out downshift and make your downshfit quicker and alow u to apply throttle quicker. that is a rev match. Indeed I am being a smart ass- but hey if someone learns something all the better. I was just explaining you can let the rpms match when you up or down shift. Sure you dont rev match for an upshift by blipping the throttle, you just let off and let the rpms fall by themselves. But you can indeed match the revs for the upshift. But you by definition do not have to blip the throttle to rev match. As long as youve matched the rpms for the next gear, up or down, you have rev matched.
the rev-match is when u downshift u dumbass... thats so u don't have to double clutch (or heel and toe) to make the engine and transmission rpms match when u downshift to prevent excess wear on the synchros
The rev matching feature is not about loosing momentum. Matching the rpms to the transmission speed when downshifting does 2 things. It allows a smother downshift so the motor compression does not abruptly hit the drive train thus breaking the traction on the rear causing a spin. It also is less impacting on the drive train giving it longer life. without this and other paddle style transmissions drivers should heal-toe downshift. It is not needed for the street but great for racing.

on the RPM gauge you can see the gear indicator but on a manual version you don't have that.

You`re better off with an Altima coupe. Z-cars are garbage these days. The 300 was in my opinion the last REAL z-car.

yah Im much better off spending a little less money and getting a lot less performance and suspension lol retard.. The Z has 337 horspower and 270-275ftlbs torque the 09 altima coupe has less horspower than my luxury 06 g35 lol.. and the 350z, g35, g37, 370z's are among the most put together cars for the price.

But the new Z's are uglier than sin. All I said was that the 300 was the most attractive and looked less of a mid-life crisis or even quarter life crisis car. But no doubt the Altima coupe as hideous as it is, is still much better looking than the dirty Z's.

Would you like to compare bank account(s)? I have multiple b/c of FDIC limitations. The beauty of financial freedom as a result of being a successful business owner is that I don't have to save my money...I could buy this in cash should I want to. I like the car, I just don't like the fact that's its a depreciating asset...which if you do your homework, you'll realize that personal owned depreciating assets are counter productive to saving or making money. More power to ya if your bought it.

do you have any concept of a demo?
this is the car that will stay on the lot for the next year or so and people will test drive and employess will take home and such
for 2 reasons
1 so it's 1 car getting wear and tear and not all of them on the lot before being sold
2 so they can get one on the street in an area and spark interest
have you never went to a dealership and bought the demo?
you can usually get one about 1 year old under 8000miles for about 25-30% off sticker with no wrong with it

Because for upshifting the revs are lower based on the gear difference. Opposite of upshifting. Read Nissans lit on the rev match, it is all about smoothness vs "loss of momentum"

Last time i drove a stick( everyday) when u up shift the rpms automatically fal until u let go of the clutch for the next gear. u sir dont know what u are talking about. bliping the throttle helps to smooth out downshift and make downshift quicker and to save the clutch. dummy :P

To rev match for a downshift means to rev the rpms up to what it would be if it was in the certain gear. doing so will smooth out downshift and make your downshfit quicker and alow u to apply throttle quicker. that is a rev match. Dow rev matching up shift....hmmm.... U let go of the clutch on your next gera and walla!!!....what more do u need to know?

Indeed I am being a smart ass- but hey if someone learns something all the better. I was just explaining you can let the rpms match when you up or down shift. Sure you dont rev match for an upshift by blipping the throttle, you just let off and let the rpms fall by themselves. But you can indeed match the revs for the upshift. But you by definition do not have to blip the throttle to rev match. As long as youve matched the rpms for the next gear, up or down, you have rev matched.

He's only taking it to 7000, instead of 7500, and I believe the 370Z has a shorter 3.7 FD, which won't let you hit 72 in 2nd anymore.

the rev-match is when u downshift u dumbass... thats so u don't have to double clutch (or heel and toe) to make the engine and transmission rpms match when u downshift to prevent excess wear on the synchros

The rev matching feature is not about loosing momentum. Matching the rpms to the transmission speed when downshifting does 2 things. It allows a smother downshift so the motor compression does not abruptly hit the drive train thus breaking the traction on the rear causing a spin. It also is less impacting on the drive train giving it longer life. without this and other paddle style transmissions drivers should heal-toe downshift. It is not needed for the street but great for racing.
