  • free coasters break so easy

  • My wife Betty rides a freecoaster and she weighs 300 lbs. That bitch can fly but sometimes her ass cheeks drag on the rear tire and slow her down.

  • is it possible to swap a freecoaster with a cassette?

  • So a freecoaster is when you could backpedal and it doesnt go backwards or brake?

  • are their any free coasters made that don't have a long pause before engaging pedaling forward?

  • how much are these ? and where can i get one ?

  • i have a problem w my freecoaster. sometimes when i go to pedal foward, it doesnt catch right away. what could be the problem ? please help !

  • @xDrOsirisx That is because you have the full 6 inches of slack in your hub. try adjusting it 4. But running less slack has the danger of the hub engaging when doing your fakie and causing you to eat shit.

  • about weaknesses, aren't freecoasters heavier? also doest the fact that they engage late affect the riding in some aspects.do they sometimes skip? (i'm guessing since the engagement works just through friction)

  • that was helpful :D

  • freecoasters are gaay

  • @xSuPeRxHeRo a lot less gay than that uploaded video of yours...

  • @preput dont really care cus that was the first day i got my bike and i was testing the quality of my phone

  • dud ewhat is the first frame

  • I WAS LOOKING FOR AN EXPLANATION VIDEO THANKS!

  • the bike in the begining is awesomewhat kind is it

  • @Bjcampbell6 Sunday

  • I have a Poverty freecoaster and i cant just ''keep going in reverse forever'' after about 10 too 20 feet i have to back pedal. Any one have this problem/ fix for it?

  • When the lump hits the spacers (in a freecoaster) can you keep on turning back the pedals or will it bind?

    Thanks

  • that guy is a beast

  • casette 4 ever but nice explanation

  • do you just have to start pedaling slowly then once you have hopped out of a fakie???

  • you my friend have helped me greatly on learning how these things work

  • i dont understand the "slack" bit. why would you needf it???? wouldnt u smas ur knees on your stem if it had loads???

  • @jackman933 ya if your not used to it but i have full slack on mine and i never hit my knees on my stem and i never mess up fakies

  • DONT BUY FREE COASTERS WASTE OV TIME THEY BREAK ALOT U MITE ASWELL KEEP WID UR OLD 1Z

  • @seblad1 hold that thought cus im tempted to point out so many things wrong with that sentence

  • i dont know why i cant go straight back on my fc

  • can u bye a freecoaster cuz i really want one

  • @RyaninURface1234 yes you can buy them they ranger around 120$ but its worth it

  • Of course you can mate :)

  • i have a problem with my cassett. when i pedal forward it sometimes skips makes a pop sound then it engages. i know its not the chain. im pretty sure it's the hub but i need help

  • @nitroidiots fuck. alright.. tighten it up so theres no slack. then see if it starts to get better. you might of stripped out the inside piece. hopefully its your claws that grip on to the teeth. im really bad at explaing all this, but i can see it perfectly in my head. im so sorry if you need to buy a new hub, but it might come down to that.

  • if u havent fixed it yet try un greesing it cu thats what mine did and thats how i fixed

  • i think ive got same problem its either the pawls in the driver or ur hub is stuffed

  • i know exactly what you mean, it sometimes happens to me. i actually think its the crank axle just slipping in the bearings in the bottom bracket. nothing dangerous dont worry ;)

  • @nitroidiots ive got exactly the same problem but i dont have a clue how to fix it

  • @nitroidiots your hubs broke i had the same problem. does it make a dragging noise sometimes too? because mine made the drag noise every now and then then it did all the time. the thing that holds the palls in is broken

  • @nitroidiots u have a shaterd driver...

  • @nitroidiots i notice that happens to my bike as well... im gonna tear apart my hub and just clean & grease the part... you should try that 1st before taking it in and spending money on it... it might just be dirty...

  • @nitroidiots you might have had to much greese in your cassete lol, i know this is a year old

  • @nitroidiots It's because you have too much heavy grease in your hub. Remove your freewheel and remove the excess of grease inside the freewheel

  • @nitroidiots check the bearings in the back hub

  • @nitroidiots you might have a bent sprocket. i landed on mine and bent it and it does the same thing

  • @nitroidiots probably the pawls or the spring thats worn out. open it up and look

  • I just want something quiet and that looks cool when i ride with my friends. All i do are footjams and bunny hops so which would be better 4 me?

  • it doesnt matter. u only do tricks that go foward hahahaha idiot

  • a freewheel! its quiet

  • He said u can if you're crazy enough... When would u be rollin backwards in dirt :S.. That's why he said if you're crazy.

  • No? you shouldn't ride dirt with a freecoaster because they are easier to break so if dirt gets in them they are more easily destroyed disengaging isn't the problem.

  • They are weaker. And you never fakie in dirt. 180's are the most uncommon trick on dirt.

  • cuz sometimes they dissengage in midair

  • how much do they cost in canada

  • lol...if i want a free coaster i just take off my chain

  • great video....very helpful!

  • freecoasters are way overpriced imo they lock up all the time

  • its cause you have forward pressure when your rolling backwards. it gets easier when you get used to it.

  • still over priced

  • they're around the same price as a cassette hub

  • well all mine have been free lol ppl hook me up

  • lol. if only all my parts on my bike were givin to me. i'd be over $2000 richer

  • ya it is awsome but the parts that were given to me are crap parts but idc they were free

  • some of casset hub , are more expensive than Freecoaster.

  • no...freecoasters are more often than not more expensive. the average freecoaster hub is 150$ and the average cassette hub is about 100$.

  • bad ones are 100. I personally will only ride a g sport, or profile back hub. Anything else i dont trust.

  • if your really into bmx you cant put a price on anything lol

  • Soooo Gettin' one ^__^

  • nigger is a bad word

  • but niggers are bad people *_*

  • and i bet your a bad fighter

  • lol nahhh growing up in the ghetto as a white supremacist in nyc...teaches u a bit.

  • I THINK FREECOASTERS R FUN

    I WANT ONE

  • my freecoaster is tempermental it works when it wants to

  • i love my freecoaster

  • i thought the odessy designer would be ripped well things in the world u kno

  • i thought that too

but being a desinger he might not ride just make the ideas for people who ride for them to test

  • cool

  • ive got this problem.. after i pedal i get this loud crack then it goes back to normal.. i have no idea wat it is :S

  • i have the exact same problem, and i have no clue why its doing that....

  • can you feel it in your crank...cuz if you do, you need to get a new crank i just got mine fixed today with the same problem.

  • nah its aight, the problem is that the driver grease that came standard was getting old and dryed up, just had to regrease it abit thats all clicking stoped after like 3 mins

  • that happens to me too, and i've learned that when your chain gets loose, if you stop pedaling it gets off your sprocket enough just for it to crack when you start pedaling again.

  • does any one now what hub is one of the loudest?

  • shadow rant v2

  • primo mix...

  • lol bearings dont like that'!!!

  • What frame was that with the freecoaster?

  • im not to sure but it looks like a 2006 sunday frame

  • i have a khe reverse coaster and at one stage i went to pedal and it wuldnt engage , after like 20 minutes of movin the crank arm forward it finally engaged , now i hav taken one washer out of my slack and it was ok for awhile but it happened agen but it'll engage , then it wuld do it agen and agen , ive taken it to my local bmx shop and they dont really know the problem , please help me out!!!

  • Was that an odyssey frame? they make frames now?

  • no, i dont think they make frames. probably just one of the riders they showed.

  • its a sunday frame with a custom paint job it was on odysseys website for a while.

  • That was awesome! Don't get to see very many good explanations on free coasters. Once you get one, you never wanna go back.

  • @Epix182 aint that the truth i got an alienation and before when i had a cassete i did 180s at 2 miles an hour and dident even roll out all the way. then i got my freecoaster in the mail and first hour i had it i was doing 180s and half cabbing out and im like fuck cassetes

  • @Epix182 until it breaks...

  • opposite and opposed tapered roller bearings for the thrust load.

  • i might get one but it sounds like there very complicated and i dont want mine to fuck up but you can do kool new school stuff wich pushes the sport and i think to be pused and envolved is exacaly what bmx needs .let me know what you think of yours if you have 1 cheers x

  • ben nice bike, i dont think you can ride it, itll brake

  • i like the stripe colored bike.

  • product ENGINEER

  • sorry, comment directed at kawikid251s comment.

  • my rollbacks are suffering and i think a freecoaster will help. any advice? i wanna know if im gonna be wasting my time or not

  • Freecoasters are difficult to get used to, like regular hubs. When you pedal backwards you are constantly catching your balance. It is like how when you dirtjump, it is harder to dead sailor than to tweak a little style. You should get used to a regular hub before you try a freecoaster. Once you get the hang of them, boy, lookout! They are fun! I've been riding freecoasters since 1996.

  • FREECOASTERS, WITH ALL THIER CURRENT FLAWS ARE DESTINED TO REVOLUTIONIZE THE SPORT!R&D, EVOLUTION AND TIME WILL MAKE THEM THE STATUS QUO[currently cassette]soon after, the only casssettes will be on mtn bikes, where they started in the first place and where they belong lol

  • unlikely...unless they find another way of designing them, the slack needed to allow you to move you feet and put pressure on the cranks during 180s, in either direction, will always cause slack going fowards again. riders who like going really fast and big cant afford to have the cranks slipping when they are landing or putting the power down. as much as they look like fun, if i want to coast fakie, ill just take my chain off. my riding style doesnt suit it.

  • well, i race motocross, too, and 8 years ago, i said"ha!unlikely" to people who said,"4strokes will eventually be the status quo, the future of the sport, blah blah..."

here it is 2008 and all you see on the line are thumpers.technology is a bitch.

  • any1 kno any cheap freecoasters message me plz on how much and were..websites,stores..exct

  • danscomp

  • thats the Gsport prototype freecoaster init?

  • is the federal freecoaster any good?

  • Best one out as of the moment.

  • the other hub in the back ground was that an odossey hazerd hub ?? im trying to get my hands on one but i have to order one i live in the middel of noware

  • Wow wow , whats the name from the first bike ?

  • i want a freecoaster hub!!!!!

  • yeah \o/

  • generalyy freecoaster are fine for awhile then after youve been ridin it for a month or watever it will start takin longer to re-engage after rolling backwords atm the fc's arent near as strong/reliable as normal casettes but im sure they are the future

  • No! They are the past. We had freecoasters on our bikes in the 1980s because you *need* a freecoaster for flatland. In fact, they are nothing more than a Suntour coaster brake hub with the brake pads removed. Coaster brakes don't engage the pedals when you roll backwards. I had a coaster brake on my kiddie bike when I was about 5, years before I had even heard of BMX.

  • hell yea i always wondered how they worked. im gettin one. i hope they can stand up to heavy street ridin

  • there cool there as good as casettes

  • so wait...will i still get the same tension as my primo cassette hub when i pedal forward as i will with the FC or does it depend on the company??

  • question. are freecoaters as strong as cassette hubs and do u get more problems with freecoasters?????

  • great video thats educated me heaps. my khe geisha street hub is being laced to my rim as im writing this cant wait to ride it.

  • i got a question about FC's

when you are riding fakie and you pedel forward does it slow you down or stop you

  • itz as if u were to pedal foward with a cassette... basically stop u or make u wheelie/flip on ur ass

  • it will stop you, and probably damage you hub

  • stop you

  • y doesnt any1 talk bout the federal freecoaster its awsome

  • cause its ugly

  • hahahahahaha

  • you cant call that an "older style" freecoaster hub,., that there be the NANKAI! the best freecoaster that money can buy, better than the shit ones oddyssey make,

  • thnx man. that was verry good information.

  • i just ordered the khe reverse and i've never ridden a freecoaster before so i hope it's kick ass.

  • Too bad they didn't have Bmx mechanics 101 in high school.
