it wasnt a subliminal message, its illegal to use them, the clip was too long to be subliminal, it was just a short clip, its derrens way of having a joke
That was the whole trick. It was meant to be noticeable. The trick is is that you see that image, and think that what Derren Brown is doing has some science behind it, and you're the only one who "sussed it all out".
That isn't it. Flashing an image on the screen very quickly means nothing. There is no science behind flashing an image, and it having a direct effect on the viewer.
actually it does : as great an entertainer as derren brown is : his researchers were wrong about the 'non-use' of single frames saying 'coca drink' or 'pop-corn' in the 1950's USA cinema : they were used. modern day there is a regular device used for program content on tv that analyses flashes/bright luminance/chrominance/repetition of images : this is to avoid potential problems to viewers : particularly kids.
@CCowell125 actually, your not ment to notice, it is noticed by your subconcoius, and what he says also plays a part. but a bunch of rotating lines has absoloutely nothing to do with how it works. if you do actually spot it, it's less effective, but still quite possible to have some effect. attacking the subconcious does have an effect, as it takes up a much greater percentage of your brain.
@CCowell125 you actually could not be more wrong. The flashing of a picture on a screen actually subliminally makes you take it in. You clearly do not know anything about psychology, because one time i played a film for my friends, daredevil, and put subliminal messages in and they responded. No setup or anything. Muaha. Also to be fair, i am 11 so just be shamed with that.
The only amazing thing about what Darren Brown does is how long he's actually managed to hold peoples attention for.

The reason this is legal is because the intensity of the flash was not bad enough to trigger epilepsy.

I saw this when watching it. I think that's why it failed because it was noticeable.

How does thinking you know how it works make it work?
god0fgod 2 years ago
It doesn't make it work, but it makes you think it is at least legitimate, and can actually work.
