  • My great-uncle, Artie, landed at Dieppe with the Black Watch. He was a Sergeant, I believe.

  • Thanks for posting this Mr. Naylor. God Bless these men, living and deceased.

  • Don't forget French civilians walked the streets and pointed out Canadians hiding in the vicinity, helping their German conquerors. Often the Canadians would shoot at French civilians to get them off of the streets and stop giving the Canadians away--they were at odds with the very people they came to liberate. This was not the case in Italy, where the civilians helped the Canadians. Certainly tells a story, doesn't it?

  • @Iwasateeninthe80s "Don't forget French civilians walked the streets and pointed out Canadians hiding in the vicinity, helping their German conquerors". Oh really? Where did you learn this?

  • As a Canadian Jew I am indebted to all WWII heroes, such as your Great (in more ways than one) Uncle for risking your lives for my family in the camps and for all humanity! Thank you for keeping the memory of the sacrifices of fallen and living Heroes alive!

  • @MenechemShaul Hey dude I'm a Canadian Jew too :). My grandpa fought in the war as well. Peace, brother.
