I really like the sound of Russian! I wish I could speak it ;) I am Polish and some people say, that those two languages are quite similar (they might sound alike to foreigners, i think) but still I can understand only few words you say. and the video is soooooo, so relaxing that I'm getting sleepy, even though I wasn't sleepy at all a few minutes ago :))

Often, when discussing language, I hear people say that Latin languages such as Spanish and especially French, flow well and are far more beautiful languages. My own opinion is that Russian flows very well. It is an oft-overlooked language with interesting roots and a strong history. Of course, when spoken as GentleWhispering does, it sounds even better because the "harder" (enunciation, not difficulty) sounds are softened, letting the beauty of the language show through. Just my opinion.

When I first listen to this, and then the English version, it's as if I've put a Babel Fish into my ear. ;)

It's also interesting to be aware of not being able to listen to English anymore, without immediately interpreting and understanding the sounds. No matter how hard I try.

And to think that this only extends to linguistics. Just imagine how impossible it has become to not automatically and instantly interpret our experience of the world and everything in it.
