  • My pastor use to always tell this story about the first time he heard this song...and he knew exactly where he was headed if he had kept on the path that he was on at the time... He would go on to tell how he got on the RIGHT PATH...He said he would never forget that moment nor this song... Well he passed 2 days ago...and all I can picture is.......

HIM STANDING TALL, HOLDING HIS HEAD UP HIGH, SMILING AND WALKING INTO GLORY SINGING THIS SONG... REST IN PEACE PASTOR J!!!!!!

  • She sure did. She went be yonder to be with the Lord. But the echo of her golden voice remains with us still. No place like Love Center when it comes to worshiping. They go deep deep. As a migrant of a different nationality living then at a not so fortunate neighborhood, Oakland, CA I felt a strange love for the first time toward the Lord Jesus Christ when I heard this Walter Hawkins album first came out 1975. Thank you sister Hawkins, you have ministered deep to my heart.

  • This morning, God answered a childhood prayer of mine. This song has always touched me and I've always said, "Wow! I hope I see her sing this live before she dies". I knew the song was older than me but I never knew who the soloist was or how old she was. I thought seeing her sing it live was far fetched....until 2day!! She visited my church and sang this song! I was overcome with gratefulness and amazed at how God loves answering even our "little" prayers. I love you Lord!

  • @lsm1983ia Used to think a yonder meant a mountain, but why don't they play songs like This on the radio anymore.

  • @lsm1983ia Well, In my opinion I think that there should be a request day. You know, a day where you can just request old songs. Thank God for You tube right? So whatever song the Christ place on your heart you can automatically go there.

  • 1975 was a great year for me carefree and my parents had RECORDS like this in our home.

  • I really love this song. Even as a kid when this song played, all I knew was I wanted to see the Lord, and if up a yonder was where he was, I wanted to get there.

  • Dearest David: You played this for me so many times in those troubled times in 1978, when we thought we had it all. What we had was lots of material things and the money to buy our happiness, which was always so short -lived. Then you got really sick and left us to go to that better place. I'm still here, but when I listen to this I "see" you clearly and you're telling me that that place you're in is just beautiful and filled with so much love. I so look forward to seeing you again!

  • Nothing on this ball of mud called Earth can compare to the Beauty of the Lord that comes through when people worship in spirit and in Truth. Nothing. The Lord took me out of the dope world in 1973 and there is nothing but Him forever. Obey Acts 2:38 and see His Beauty/Music and enjoy the fellowship of the relationship forever. His coming is not far away as we can all see with what is taking place on the speck called Earth. Thank you to the only God JESUS.

My friends niece sings this A Cappella...she sang it at my girl's mothers funeral (her grandmother) crying her eyes out, there was not a dry eye in the house, when I tell you every tear that fell made every note get stronger and stronger...it was a beautiful thing...it really was a beautiful thing...this has been ONE of my favorites every since... /AMEN

  • I love this song, its sooo beautiful. To go up and be with our Heavenly Father

  • I LOVE THIS SONG<3

  • Wow I didn't know this song was this old. People are right when they say the older choir gospel songs are the best.

  • Edwin Hawkin's masterpiece -- his arrangement and brilliant piano playing and orchestra direction on this performance are unequaled in the world of gospel music, in my humble opinion. And Tramaine's vocals defy comment -- never heard anything better in my life. One of those songs which you can hear a thousand times and never get tired of. Oh, and did I mention the best choir on earth?? Stunning.

  • :)*
