Ann Coulter on the Today Show

I live in Mexico and I just got familiar with Ann Coulter. I read her articles online constantly. I do agree with her on most of her points, but I do not agree with her tone. MIS COULTER: TONE IS AS IMPORTANT AS CONTENT. If you want people to actually listen to you, then that's exactly what the concept of "tone" exist for. You seem to be surprised that people focus so much on your tone, rather than your points. What does that tell you? That (my point) TONE IS AS IMPORTANT AS CONTENT.

As a self proclaimed educated person I wouldn't think that you'd be prone to such a weak argument.

At no point in this interview, or in her book, does she say that all children of single mothers turn into burdens on society. What she is correctly pointing out is that if you look at the burdens, most are from single mother homes. It's not the same, and I would think that someone with a University degree would be able to see that.

Stop getting so defensive.

@EchoMike03 There is no "correctly pointing out". Her findings aren't based on fact, nor is there any "factual" way of finding out who is "burdening" society. Single mothers aren't to blame for the piss poor economy, and if you really want to angry, maybe get angry about the war we've been funding with both money and human lives for the past 10 years?

So single motherhood is bad, having a real family is good. So divorce is bad, Family good. According to my reaseach, as many convservatives, get just as many divorce. IN FACT - conservatice states on average have higher teen pregnancy and divorce rates than liberal states. So U could even blame the conservatives for high divorce rates, more then liberals. I dont understand how ANN states somthing like RAPE is bad, and then takes a drastic jump, basically liberals are responsible for all rape.

I was raised most of my childhood by a single mom. She worked very hard. I am thankful for her efforts. I turned out acceptable. BUT there is no doubt in my mind I would be twice the man I am today if my parents had stayed together, fights and all. Nothing replaces a father. There is no doubt in my mind that it is a huge factor in what is wrong with the US today, divorce.

For too many people, dads have become passé, and government has become some sort of sick surrogate.

@Rsutherl1 No, she's saying that exalted single mothers are producing children who end up victimizing others. She is basing her argument on several statics about single mothers and their children. Perhaps you should read her book, "GUILTY - Liberal 'Victims' and Their Assault on America" and your questions about her argument will be answered.

The reason people are shocked by so many things in her books is because she makes stuff up to put in them. In her book "Godless," there were 14 errors. Not errors, 14 lies. She cited sources, and when checked, they either did not exist or did not say what she quoted. She literally makes things up out of thin air (her brain) and says them for fun to make people who don't think exactly like her look stupid. She's a lying ignoramus!

does she think that everyone that buys her book agrees with her? It sales because, like they said, it has that shock jock appeal, and people can't believe some of the stuff is actually being said. Is she trying to be the conservative South Park because she's always saying she's "just telling jokes", but I've never seen her make someone laugh. If she wants to be like South Park then she needs to start working on different levels of humor and get away from the OMG LOLZ she said something racy!

Yes, Ann entertains people by her tactless shock-jock rants, but I often do find them humorous. I hope she doesn't change, because this is what makes her distinct.

Oberman has a particular style of humor that I also wouldn't want changed. I still laugh every time he names Bill O as the worst person in the world, despite the truly evil people that commit heinous atrocities on a daily basis.
