  • it seams like a the verve song :)

  • Dug this track in my youth.

  • what a shame poor quality of video. Heard this on radio today, song is awesome, different and unique, but this poor quality really takes alot away from the song

  • I would like to see Jennifer Warnes do this song. She is the best.

  • is the sound kinDa muddled or is it just mE? love the tune

  • the quality is indeed incredibly shite.

  • what shitty quality

  • There is a little more than a dose of the Drake in this...not a bad thing of course.

    Nick Drake that is.

  • Agreed.

    Very perecptive.

    EdShift.

  • excellent song, dont sound this bad on my cd

  • Similar to her "Stolen Car". I like both and others.

US National Public Radio uses Concrete Sky.

    Interesting biography.

  • eveliomusic is right--it's Bobbie Gentry. "Ode to Billy Joe" is posted here on YouTube somewhere. I've loved Beth Orton since forever, and my dad had the 45 of OTBJ, but it never occurred to me that they were similar voices . . . thanks eveliomusic!

  • dont think she ripped any1 off, but it does have a touch of joan baez about it

  • no ,Joan has a long Vibrato

  • Sharon Katner

Incredable as always- she exposes her soul and emotions so clearly and fully it completely lifts my soul

  • that's an unbelievable voice!!

  • I love Beth Orton .. and this is sonically amazing ..but even an original like Beth was ripping someone off here ...

  • haha i thought it sounded like the Spyro the Dragon game music

  • Are you talking about that song Billy Joe???

    Dude!!!

  • HAHA good one .. no the Tarika (Madagascar) track its in my Vids

  • who did she rip off?

  • sonicly amazin, u big rr's Joni n Beth r true emotive storytellers; cupla decades apart but you've obviously missed the point about shared artistry. P'haps u shud go to the cheeky girls or s cowells latest offring. you maybe more @ home. u f head.

  • For chrissakes can't we get a better quality version than this? An amazing song butchered by something as simple as bad audio quality. What a shame

  • oh i remember this one, yea big in my wild wiley bachelor days when i was travelling the countryside and stuff, ya perfect for driving down the highway under the stars only im three years into married life, so she no longer has to cry out since we've found each other and though my wild bachelor days were something else, i would not trade married life for anything under the sun

  • I'm even nervous looking into her eyes on this damn computer!!!......

  • Outstanding song by Beth Orton. The music behind the voice is mysterious, atmospheric.

  • listening to Milica Ilic all evening, and then put on Beth Orton. such purity of spirit and talent shining through.

  • she's a goddess.....pure and simple.

  • i love this album really fancied her in my early 20's great times smokin weed to this song......still quite fancy her

  • hi im british is she from uk or usa great stuff thuogh

  • From UK. A lot of her songs have been in American movies or TV programs, though.

  • It hurts, this song of the past... why...

  • because it brings back to a time you miss the most.

  • To great for words (the song--altho this video is not the best). Wish 'So much more' was on UT.

  • Dido would be the other best secret

  • i'm thinking no...!

  • this and stolen car are my favorite songs of hers

  • ganda ng song!! wag nyo na pong gamitin kina wendy mga nag iinarte lang un!

  • this is a beautiful video/song, from probably the best secret in the UK.

  • itto ditto

  • great, thanks for the vid!

does anyone think Suzanne Vega may be among Beth's inspirations?

  • they actually look like twins,in a cute way.both of em i like too.

  • Water from a Vineleaf (with William Orbit) or Touch Me With Your Love (solo)

  • Beautful!

@ flairboys: do you know (of anyone else) the name / title of the first Beth Orton's video...

  • this one.

  • i fell in love with beths music from this first video, she somehow makes the "trailer park" look inviting.

  • The audio on this is slightly distorted. You may want to consider resubmitting it.

  • If the stil have the original, I would chose a better compression as well. Too much pixilization on this version. Great to see the video though! Excellent song.
