At 25 tanker loads of fuel per year in cost savings if the average tanker holds around 8,800 gallons of fuel that's a savings of 220,000 gallons of gasoline; and at 17¢ per gallon in state fuel taxes that a net loss of $37,400 in revenue, or about one average MoDOT job due to this corridor. I'm not saying this is bad, but this is a great example of unintended consequences.
