Hey, good fighting is just good fighting. When you reach a certain level, good karate is going to look like good kickboxing is going to look like good muay thai. Humans can only punch or kick or throw in so many ways.

@iloveasiangirls I disagree on just one point, I respect all fighting arts, Karate, Muay Thai, Sanda...all legit, but at the very top they do look noticeably different when watching. The Muay Thai style especially is very different than the Sanda style and Karate style.

cung le is to sanda as buakaw is to muay thai. the same way that hailong is to sanda as yodsanklai is to muay thai. both hailong and yod define their respective sports, whilst cung and buakaw clearly cross-trained - cung's punches are far too "clean" by western standards. they look more like kb punches. not to disrespect any of these fighters but the most representative fighter of sanda is clearly hailong.

@ubersum1 his kicks and his punches look more western than they look sanda and compared with other sanda fighters from china, his kicks and punches are a lot more slower and carry more power while chinese sanda fighters focus more on speed.

@xiaolintraditional90 i largely agree. that's what i meant really when i said cung le isn't pure sanda. though his techniques and movement are more sanda than anything else, in particular his punches are a lot less "sanda" than other fighters
