If you actually knew anything about economics, you'd know the old joke that economists have successfully predicted nine of the last five recessions. Crediting the Austrians with predicting this is like crediting a stopped clock with telling the time twice a day. Just watch the damn video; Ron Paul's specific predictions are diametrically opposed to what specifically happened. All he got was the general idea of "gonna be hell to pay," which is hardly an impressive forecast.

If you actually knew anything about economics, you'd know the old joke that economists have successfully predicted nine of the last five recessions. Crediting the Austrians with predicting this is like crediting a stopped clock with telling the time twice a day. Just watch the damn video; Ron Paul's specific predictions are diametrically opposed to what specifically happened. All he got was the general idea of "gonna be hell to pay," which is hardly an impressive forecast.

In fact, he predicted runaway inflation due to excessive government spending; what actually happened was a series of financial collapses that threatened runaway DEflation. Our supposed evil corporations are so heavily tied to the federal government that they can hardly be called "businesses" anymore. "Business" with guns is crime.
What can we do to change this? I'm tired of watching and talking

Washington made the standards for homeownership looser than they would be in a free market. FNMA and FHLMC were created to encourage the issuance of imprudent mortgages. The FDIC anesthetized depositors against risks, and the Federal Reserve keeps interest rates below free market rates so that more lending occurs. Yet when this house of cards collapsed, it was capitalism that was denounced by McCain, and more government power that was demanded by Obama. Ron Paul is a friend of human liberty.

there is no such thing as free market trade.. one nation will always have an advantage over the other.. whether in resources or manufactured goods..when Japan first introduced products into the US, Japan subsidized their industries and still do.. most countries subsidize..

Most countries do subsidize - and it artificially increases costs for consumers. Advantages between nations does not equal 'no such thing as a free market'. We don't have one today, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
