@oSaamxD Well, it depends which one you think is best! CS:S is a Multiplayer game while Half Life 2 is a singplayer game, but on HL 2, you can get really cool mods for it. Oh, and they both have achievement systems.

Or, if you want to get Counter Strike: Source, you can get it off steam and save $5.

@zemonlemon13 Bring up Task Manager by right clicking the toolbar on the desktop and Click the processes tab, then look for HL2.exe or something like that, if you find it end the process and then try start it up.
