  • Why is youtube not let save Favs,,,,?

  • Wildwood Flower by Duane Eddy is pure joy to listen to! Danced and listened to it in the Sixties. Does anyone know who plays cajun fiddle in the tune?

  • @heywoodjosh which one of his guitars?

  • This ia a great album I have it and I listen it while driving,,aawwwww sum

  • Actually made famous by the Carter Sisters......

  • This is my dads all time fav. Im glad I found it, you are a very lucky person to have obtained this great musicians guitar. It always will and still does bring back fond memories of my father.

  • Buddy Emmons on steel guitar

  • great rockabilly sound who ever is playing on this

  • real Country,!

  • great job

  • Duane nailed this song good, the Carter Family would be proud!

  • @easye1989 I've playlisted nearly 400 of the best artists on earth on my music hall of fame channel. ukbarton mentioned Floyd Cramer is on piano here, too, so I've included this on my lists for both Cramer & Eddy. I've also playlisted each year from 1900 to today to create a musical time machine - play any year like you've stepped back in time for three hours or so on most of them. chuck

  • best version of this song

  • i have his original guitar....Bought at a charity auction 15 years ago!

  • @heywoodjosh I would love that. Do you play it or keep it in a safe??

  • @heywoodjosh What a treasure. Do You play it or just save it?

  • i have his original guitar....Bought at a charity auction 15 years ago

  • Great tune!

  • Great melody that learners can practice too.

  • I've listened to Duane Eddy since the sixties and he is a fantastic guitar player. You don't need words as the notes almost speak to me. I live in central Florida, near Wildwood and I wish he was playing near as I have a young 10 year old guitarist who loves Duane Eddy and listens and watches all the Duane Eddy and Chet Atkins songs here on Youtube. A big thank you to Mr. Duane Eddy for all the great memories.

  • Notice the "extreme" separation on the older stereo recordings....love it!!

    Thanks for this one!!!

  • im 25 years old and eddy is WAY too underrated, he pretty much made the guitar riff , A RIFF.......something so cool and that could be repeated under other instruments

  • Was this Chet Atkins who was playing second guitar?

  • @shrubhater We will have to wait for YouTube's "onemikehart" to answer that. He is a friend of Duane Eddy and a most useful source of information.

  • @shrubhater Actually, I am not sure that there is a second guitar on this track. Are you refering to the steel guitar? That was definately not played by Chet Atkins.

  • @shrubhater Dyane Eddy played with a lot of musicians who, like himself, were trying to break into the light of popularity in the days this was recorded. He had a group called the "Rebels" who was a multi-talented bunch, drums, guitars, electric bass, keyboard so it would be wise to find one of the original albums or 45's that this was recorded on to find out the answers of who? In instrumental songs back in the 50's and 60's usually only the lead player was depicted on a label.

  • @thewaymakers You would be well advised to contact YouTube member 'onemikehart' who can provide just about any info on Duane's work.

  • @ukbarton I was only an admirer of Duane Eddy and the guitar sounds he had. Most guys my age at that time who combed their hair like that and carried their cigarettes on the sleeve of their tee shirts, loved the look and the sounds. I would love to hear more about the personal being of him.

  • @ukbarton I am a truck driver and have just about every truck driving song there is , You should hear him play 40 miles of bad road wow!

  • Awesome!! Is that Floyd Cramer on piano with him? What a gorgeous song from my teen years!!! :D

  • @klm7858 Yes, Floyd Cramer and a bunch of other great musicians.

  • been a lot of years but still remember this one, great song.

  • No matter what version. this is one of the all time greats. when i hear it I stop what

I am doing and listen...thanks to the person(s) that wrote/composed original.....

  • This always cheers me up. TFP

  • A gem, ukbarton. I bought Duane Eddy's original 45 rpm when it was released more than 40 years ago. It was the B-side of Sugarfoot Rag. Two world-beaters for the price of one. Meganumber. Thanks.

  • Agreed. I had the vinyl album from new, it was the mono version, and was greatly pleased with the selection of tracks.

Some years later I got hold of the stereo version (also vinyl) and thought it was even better.

I have all the tracks on my car mp3 player.

  • Thanks for your reply, ukbarton. Good to know we can enjoy lovely stuff like this forever. It'll outlive us all. Just hope the YouTube/Google heavies don't spoil it for people who would otherwise not have access to numbers like these.
