  • Haworth my absolutely favourite place to visit. I can never walk down the main street without 'feeling' the Bronte presence. It's a wonderful place and a joy to share the experience. The Torchlight procession is a must for me each year, to walk in the footsteps of each and every Bronte is so amazing. So sad lives they had losing their mother so soon, but what intelligence they all had!

  • you can see how their novels were inspired by their lives: emile loved to roam the moors with her dog and this is reflected in catherine's character in wuthering heights, and charlotte was a governess nd made a good friend wen she went to school like jane eyre

  • Thank you for sharing. Having visited Howarth and the parsonage recently, I now find that I can't conceive of visiting anywhere more romantic and important. Seeing the couch on which Emily died was astonishing, and made her feel real and tangible.

  • Yes I can Imagine that would be impressive emotion to be feeling.
