Some companies actually hire women that already had one or two kids. They suspect these women probably won't plan to get pregnant again and want to develop a career, specially if the economy is down and the kids raising expenses goes up.
Even though I disagree with not hiring a women b/c she can get pregnant. That is the main reason why women make less for same jobs and why men get better jobs.
You have to look at it from the companies side. When a female employee gets prgnant it cost the compnay money. You have to pay her while shes out of work and you have to pay and train someone to fill her position for that same amount of time. It actually cost companies more money to employ women. Now men, IN MOST STATES don't have ANY paternity leave. You women have been so brainwashed to fight against a male dominated society for generations that you don't even realize men are LEGALLY and INSTITUTIONALLY kicked around these days compared to women. @xhaleighoverdose , US women are so unfortunate compared to European ones. Spain and France gime you 4 months paid maternity leave, Bulgaria and Dennmark- 1 YEAR at 100% of your salary. Fathers can also take paid leave if the mom absolutely has to go back to work.
It's bad enough for companies that women get Maternity leave and NOW men want paternity leave?? WTH? How about the world just stops when ever someone pops out kid and business go under. I think it should be legal for companies ask you if your pregnant or are planning to be pregnant before hiring you.

In Brazil, ALL women have the right of a 6-month maternity leave, and it doesn't matter how long she's been working for the company. If she just got hired and got pregnant, she has the right. If she was hired already pregnant, she has the right. It's prohibitted to fire a pregnant woman, and if they do fire, then they'll have to pay a lot more. That's why companies don't hire pregnant women. Men have 5-day paternity leave, and 2 months if he's a single father who adopted a child.
By the way, there is a law in Brazil that says a man with a pregnant wife has 1 year stability in his job, counting from the beginning of the pregnancy, and if that man gets fired throughout that period, the company will have to pay his salary for 18 months.
