It's a dumbass law that needs to fucking become legal I wanna have all the knifes why don't they ban a regular pocket knife - they r just as dangerous it's so fucking gay put a law on gravity??? What the he'll the people that choose laws are dumbasses
@fortworthskaters42 Yes they are. You can read into the laws on it if you want just look up something like Texas knife laws or or weapon laws. I'm sure it would be fine to have as long as you are just keeping it around the house or just keeping it hidden away and don't bring it out to show it off to friends or something.
@fortworthskaters42 You can own any kind of questionable knife (switchblade, butterfly, etc.) in Texas. However, you can ONLY have them legally as "relics/curios" (not as weapons), and they must stay in your home. In terms of what you can legally carry for self-defense or whatever, AS FAR AS I COULD FIND the laws are the same as in this video. So, if the knife is "assist-open" (like the last 3 in this video) then you carry them, as long as they are under 5.5 inches. Hope that helped.
ok just saying switch blades spring assasist and other knife like that are defence weapons if your going to stab some one you open the knife b4 u do it were as defence you dont have time to always open a lock back knife if your atacked aand this is from personal experince
@alloutpro123 guessing from the way you worded your comment means your probly about 10 to 17 meaning its not legal to carry any knife but i sujest you google it or contact a law office or onther way of hearing laws
@MrKickdo Im pretty sure Spring Assisted Knifes but im not sure thats why im here to because i found a nice one for like 6 bucks but i dont wanna buy until im 100% sure its legal
wow this video helped me get out of a bind... whew thank you whoever made this video... my blade was found to be spring assisted. not a switch blade...
I was charged with a misdemeanor ticket in Los Angeles, CA today because I was carrying a kershaw 1660 pocket knife. I explained to the office the difference between a switch-blade and assited opening yet I still received a ticket marked a misdemeanor. What evidence should i present in court to judge that would dismiss my case? and Do you think the case will be a DA reject?
@evosevo123 I hear that Los Angeles is tougher than in other counties. One good thing in your favor is CA doesnt have the money to put you in jail!! However they may fine you..
@bluejay02920 I didnt see a lawyer about it. Basically I went to local PD and spoke with officer in charge of filing the ticket. The officer who had knowledge of the law agreed that its not a switchblade. I was told to pick up my blade at the evidence room. Absolutely no money was spend. It was just a matter of knowledge.
You got the law wrong for California, it's prefactly legal to OWN a switchblade or blalisong(butterfly knife) but to carry it with you it needs to have a 2 inch blade
Okay I've searched as much as I can. I live in TN. My dad wants a stiletto switchblade. Is it legal to buy and keep in our house ? No one will be carrying it anywhere.
@coldplayrocks17 you dont need to be legal. just go to bladeops and buy what you want. no questions asked. If ur not carrying it just dont show a cop it if there in ur house. :)
@Drum41NAB yea you can have them you jsut cant carry it with you or take it away from your house or property, if someone sees it you cant get into trouble.
@coldplayrocks17 stiletto switchblade knives are legal in all 50 states and has no ristrictions you are allowed to carry them as protection unless u use it iresponsibly such as muging threatining or killing someone with it
i dont see why these switches are illegal its just a knife that opens faster than any other knife. the blade is the same, it has the same killing potential as any other knife, the only difference is the button. if your going to reply with a bunch of fact of why its illegal dont bother i dont give a shit.
yeah, cause the legal knives in this video open so much slower then the illegal ones. Things like that makes our government look so stupid, not that they arn't.
@vinejuli311 sometimes the law percives it as a gravity knife, mainly the definitian of the Balisong is "a knife that can be split down the middle to reveal the blade, called butterfly knife or balisong" i have no idea why these are illigal, but living in the uk and having parents that are law enforcement officers really puts a dampener on things
I have that same pearly handled knife, and they suck. Superknife is a garbage company. The blade is really loose and it doesn't hold an edge worth crap.
hello great video 5 stars! one question so is the Navy Seals Spring Assisted Pocket Knife legal to carry on the streets in california or illegal?? please answer thanks

Oh come on... Why do certain knives have to be illegal? I mean I could easily open many other knives just as fast as a switchblade.
