k well my birthday passed like 11 days ago from today and i got some money i might go get a new mouth piece if i find one i like on spring break now so yea just went to district got 1 2 2 and 1 in sight reading the one of the 2s was right on the line from being a 1 and they decided to make it a 2 the other one was just a 2 not close to 1 or 3 mostly cause of tuning but the other judge from where he was tuning sounded good idk i know we had tuning problems tho every1 does
o and idk if this part u played has all the solos in it or what never even seen the sheet music for this song but uhh my band director does the solo part of it or did it thats y it took him 10 years to get it perfect and he played for the president i wish i could do that but i suck too much lol i left my trumpet at the school and i didnt have school yesterday cause it snowed so i wont play for like 5 days straight great im gonna do horrible tuesday
This is only the intro to like a 5 or 6 part piece. The rest of it is pretty difficult and I'd need to practice it for awhile to do it well haha. Whenever you can't get to your horn or even a mouthpiece try freebuzzing with your lips. Try doing exercises and stuff like that and it'll help so that it's not so tough to get back into the swing of things after a break.
@trptking12345 o well i never thought of freebuzzing lol thanks ill do that some and ill keep my 7c blessing at my house at all times just incase what is a good cheap mouth peice you would recommend im playing regularly on a 5c blessing for now but i got some money and about to get some more for my b-day and am thinking about either getting a yamaha silent mute so i can listen without annoying my family or a good mouthpeice
I play on a Bach 3C which is pretty standard but it's good for all around playing. I've been using it for the past 5 or 6 years and i've had no complaints. I also have the Yamaha silent mute and it's great for when I travel and stuff, I take it and I can practice no matter where I am which is cool. I'd say go for the mouthpiece first because it's a good piece of equipment to get goin with.
wow michael idk u and u dont know me but good job it took my band director 10 years to play that whole song perfectly and that sounded good btw i suck lol not really im uhh ok i guess. i need to practice though
Hey thanks! I've been messin with this piece for quite a while so I dunno, it didn't take much work to get it up to this. Looking at it now I think i could do a much better job but whatever. And yeah, practice is key but just make sure you're practicing correctly and not letting any bad habits sneak in. If you pay attention to just sounding good, your practicing will go a lot smoother!
yea my band director i think has practiced with allen vizzuti i think he said and yea hes awesome u need to keep practicing alot and u could be like him he could be famous but he chose to direct our schools band cause its the school he graduated from and he told the band director he was gonna take his job idk if uve been told this but to help with lip slurs and range take 2 erasers out of pencils and put them vertically in between ur back teeth to seperate it makes it hard to play but helps alot
beautiful.
Keep up the good work

I thought you did a good job. It sounded really good for something that was done with camera audio and not a good mike! Keep up the good work!

Nice. Well done. My only suggestion is probably using a bigger room for a more resonant sound lol.
