arrrrg you wipeout fusion bashers are ruining my childhood please stop :( i can see why you dont like it compared to previous versions on the ps1, but please, its a pretty good game altogether and my favourite ps2 game.

@JordMcDrummer Yeah Fusion isn't that bad really, I think a lot of people didn't like it because it lacked some of the quirky design because tDR wasn't involved with it.

They've recovered now and WipEout now has it's unique style.

@jameshighlife have you even played HD or 2048?

It's shame that PS3 never had its own proper Wipeout. PS1 had 3, PS2 had 2, even fucking PSP had two. PS3? No, we have enhanced Wipeout Pure only...

For me Wip3out HD Fury is the best although i dont like the fact that they took the super weapons out of wip3out after fusion cuz that was the best feature of Wipeout although the weapons, track design game modes and Ship designs and choices do make Wip3out HD fun :) want super weapons back though :(

@Carbonized433 It's Phenitia Park from 2097. It made an appearance in Wipeout 3 Special Edition along with 7 other classic circuits.

@LambdaQuarks I'm still of the opinion that the only good thing to come out of Fusion was Zone mode.

@HellfireWZ You are correct, the concept of the zone mode was born there. It was really the way the steering felt in that game and the design of some of the tracks that was terrible. Also the soundtrack was saturated with some of the most over-played and well known electronica music at that time like BT for example...when in reality we want something more unique for wipeout. @LambdaQuarks EVERY game after fusion sucked! They completely screwed up the handling of the crafts and the physics!!! I SERIOUSLY doubt ANY of the development staff ever played the first three. The creators all left and started their own ventures. Look em up on linked in. Theres a total CHODE running the show at Liverpool now.

@Djungelurban By similar to 2097, I meant the game engine. The video is showing how the series has evolved and seeing as 64 uses the same engine as 2097, I didn't feel it was enough of a jump to warrant its own section.

I still remeber how Wipeout 3 came to my home and the endless hours I spent with it when I was much younger.

Wipeout series has its own charm which any game won't be able to emulate, and this video catches it perfectly. An awesome job, Hellfire. ^^

@neoqueto The reason for that is Xpander triggers a Content ID match, which would have plastered ads on the video. I agree though, it was the defining music track of the game.

I know the new game is called Wipeout 2048, but I thought that the anti-gravity racing league wasn't supposed to have been established until 2052? Oh, and what happened to WipEout XL?

@fuseunison The F3600 was established in 2050, but the AG racing league itself was founded two years prior to that. XL is the US name for 2097, they're the same game.

@MrBroken030 Not that I'm aware of, the rescue bot is very sensitive in that game. However, in 2097 there were places you could cut off significant lengths.
