Dolphins played only 2 winning teams in regular season--both with 8-6 records, and faced no playoff bound teams. They faced a Redskins team who played a much tougher schedule and who were playing without the Top- rated passer in NFL history: Sonny Jurgensen. The next time the Dolphins played the Skins Sonny torched them with over 300 yards, 2 tds. Dolphins scored late to go ahead 17-13. With 1:44 to go Sonny took Skins 60 yards with 6of7 passes incl winning td. Age 40, led NFC passers
Best team in NFL and the only with a PERFECT SEASON including the Super Bowl!!! ...pats-ies 18-1 hahahaha remember cheaters never win...GOOOOOOOOOOOO PHINS 4ever
1972 Dolphins, best team ever, I grew up in Hollywood Fl. which is about 10 miles from Miami, I witnessed the perfect season as a 12 year old boy. Talk about hero's for a youngster. All my friends and I imitated Greise, Warfield, Csonka, Mercury Morris, in our neihborghood football games.
'08 Dolphins 38, '08 Patriots 13! At Foxboro! Say...those '72 Dolphins had a perfect season with a backup QB at the helm for about 10 games, while the Patriots lasted for only 2...guess their coach just wasn't SMART enough to pick up a QUALITY BACKUP QB, like an Earl Morrall. Too bad...and they had such an easy schedule, too...can you say OVERRATED?!!!!
csonka..i remember him runnin that ball and running over or through everyone, more than one man had to bring him down. and garo..in the superbowl trying to throw a pass to no one, and dropping the ball,...kiick was amazing. the no name defense, idk EVERYONE! was great
i remember what one reporter used to refer to lombardi as "the sainted but not neccesarily saintly coach/gm of the green bay packers.
i also recall gowdy used to refer to griese as the neurosurgeon of pro qb's as he said that "he'll perform surgery on u." he and starr carried out the coaches game plan better than any 2 other qbs in nfl history. with apologies to len dawson and good ol' hank(wired for sound--or just plain wired) stram.i loved the little fat man despite bitter rivalry with oak

1972-1973 Miami Dolphins=BEST EVER!!!
Too bad the 1975 World Football League shortened Miami's Dynasty by snagging Paul
Warfield,Jim Kiick and Larry Csonka.
