Like the music. However, Massai culture is pastoral and resistant to cultural change (and not in Tanzania). The exploitation of this culture for personal benefit is not right.
@mscrossjr If you knew anything about X Plastaz you would know that there has never been a hip hop group in Tanzania dedicated to the preservation of culture and resistance to the materialistic culture that exists in hip hop more than them. The fact that some of these guys are actually Masaai renders the point about culture exploitation pointless since all they are doing is exhibiting their culture to the world
X-plaztic represents the Masai way of life and challenges
authentically and brilliantly through their music. I play them here in the USA on my show the Mama Africa (Afrika ) show Sundays on WMPG.org radio. I am waiting to hear more from them! Peace
Probably my fave track by my fave African hip-hop group! I'm a Welshman living in Georgia, USA. I also like Gidi Gidi Maji Maji and I saw Mabulu live - they're excellent - like a Mozambican Arrested Development - in that, like AD, they have members from in their 20s to in their 70s!
haha, video na musicy nzuri sana, mimi ne toka iringa tanzania, lakini ne ishi england, ne enda huko mara moja moja, inchi nzuri sana , mina penda i musicy sana. safi
its tto bad... xplaza.. wame slow down sasa...any way.. ain no bongo flava.. its bongo hip hop.. bomgo flava anaimba feruz na wenzake... masela wamekaza ktk hiphop..
I saw these kids perform live in a park in Maastricht in 2001. They were great! I found their album a few years later---it's a must for any rap aficianado. They've never toured the U.S., but I wish they would!
kuna mtu anajua a song that goes like tumekuja ku party u fungue sumthin sumthin boom boom ba boom boom boom boom ba... or sum like that its a really old song like 5 years old and the singer died of a car/matatu accident
listen to kalamashaka guys and maumau music i mean not all kenyans are commercial get that right hiphop hardcore and real massage from dandora nad parts of eastern nairobi by this i dont mean nonini or prezzo,i mean mashifta ,wenyeji and others ...
Hey, My name is Erick Fungo or you can just call me "O'Nkosi". Mtafika mbali.
Hahahaha, hakuna haja ya wasee kubishana hapa at Kenya this, Kenya that. Si mnajua wa'Kenya ni wadeadly in Africa. Hatuna compe be it economywise, skillwise, citywise hata corruptionwise. Now we taking over the world soon. Hata huku Amerika ... tunarepresent .... tuka a few steps away from the presidency. Holla
