Very nice!!! I reckon that EWS beasties should be etched, as the ones that were on the real 60081 were cast and painted gold.

Superb review of this very nice Class 60 mate.. :) Yesterday, I purchased a very nice Class 56 with rotating fans and all - I'm very chuffed with that.. :)

@BritishRail2002: I used to own a model of 56059 a couple of years ago but I had to sell it to pay off a couple of bills in 2010. I will get another Hornby Class 56 next year as its a nice model and I might get a BR Blue one this time.

I have a hornby cl60 in metals sub-sector very nice,also i have a lima one with the later chassis in EWS and thats superb,get well soon will you be singing in the xmas vid,LOL have a merry christmas ash and a happy new year M

@1968concorde: Thats cool, is that one 60062 "Samuel Johnson"? Or has it been customised by yourself? I used to own a few Lima examples but these have now been disbanded in favour of the Hornby examples. Haha, I am far from a good singer mate, so I won't be singing any Christmas Carols on my video. It will be a general video and I hope my voice will be clear enough for when I make the video although I will be in a pub for the greeting.

@1968concorde: Ah cool, at the present time. 60001 is still parked up at Toton along with my 60008. If you get LMS 10000, feel free to post a video review. I am waiting for the Bachmann Model to come out from Rails of Sheffield because I have had a bad experience with Dapol and I have blacklisted their motorised trains.

@poisonarrowfrog100: Thanks mate. The GWR Brunswick green seems to suit the Class 60 considering GWR no longer exists I think it would probably be at home with the GWR locomotives and post-GWR early Diesels like the Western and the Hymek.

@HillsideModelRailway: Hi Sam, I will confess that I am addicted to these Hornby Class 60's as I have eight of them that I have bought/received over the years since 2006. I might try an get 60042 with sound and repaint that as 60054 in DB Schenker red livery. If you want a DB Schenker red Class 60 (there is 60011, 60054 and 60091 at present to choose from), have a word with Jon at Peak Dale Works as he does excellent repaints and his prices are fair.

@Robnix66: All planned for January/February time mate as I know there is a big project coming on but I won't ruin any surprises because it is impressive. You will see when I upload some certain footage on Boxing day. Thats all I am saying for now mate.

the squeking on the wheels ash,is the metal strips which put power to the back of the wheels ,put a dab of oil on the back of the wheels and it will disapear mate.

@488scooby: Thanks for that Ste, I will oil the wheelbacks and let you know how it goes tomorrow. If you want 60081, I recommend looking on eBay as there is a couple of them on there but they exceed the original price unfortunately. But as xmas is next week, you could indulge in one if circumstances and funds permit mate.

@488scooby: I tend to stay up longer at weekends mate. But with this sore throat and cold I have. My sleeping pattern has been erratic. I hope that my throat is better by next week as I am making a special christmas video and you will see me for the first time in the flesh.
