Sehr gute Wahl, mein Freund! Wirtschaftsingenieure kann man überall gebrauchen.
One year in Germany? I'd assumed you were German. Where are you from, then? (I'm always fascinated by people coming to study in this country voluntarily. LoL)
Thanks for the informative and entertaining FAQ. :) Thats a very smart way to display what webcam you are using. Trust a german to think of that. Thankyou, you've solved my problem (or at least one of the many)! :) Btw, does windows movie maker not crash alot for you? It drove me nuts, which is why I'm using adobe premiere elements now. That and the restrictions on how small the time fragments are on the timeline.. made it impossible to sync things sometimes.
It's a fairly new development. Four friends and I started it about two months ago and it has really taken off. We recently surpassed fifty members. And it's not your typical "look at my vids" group. We discuss and laugh and make plans on it. I was pleasantly surprised by how it turned out, because YT groups usually suck.
I just happened upon this from someone else's subscription list, I think o.o but lol I thought you looked German because my cousin's german and you look just like him =P he's also half egyptian.
I thought you surrendered your copyright to YouTube, when you posted stuff here. (Except for all the people who post stuff that's already copyrighted.)
Thanks for the info on the wikipedia site, Aeric. I was getting fed up of the limits, so I loked at the Adobe suff, and nearly fell off my chair at the price.
Excerpting snippets for the purpose of parody, illustration, etc. should come under the "fair use" doctrine in US copyright law. I've done a little excerpting without permission, believing copyright laws in my country support it. "Fair use" is the lifesblood of The Daily Show and other parodists; if they had to get permission, they'd shut down.
You can't lift works entire, or even largely; excerpts must be a small part of the total.
A right you do not exercise is a right you will lose.
AFAIK, the fair use doctrine applies only to U.S. and Phillipine law and only if your work is a direct parody of someone else's work. It does not exist in many other countries, such as Germany.
Also, it is difficult to judge how small a part of the total is. How big an excerpt from a two minute video would qualify for fair use, for example.
You can use it for more than parody in the US. Examples include criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
But there is no clear definition of the distinction between "fair use" and "infringement," so legally, using the right is risky, especially if done extensively.
I tried to leave a comment on your Stickam profile earlier but it doesn't seem to have worked... just so you know, it was very flattering, very witty and did not include any obscure British slang. :) -SW
I don't understand where "your English be bad if you no be from UK/USA" thinking comes from. Perhaps it's a remnant of a medieval belief that people outside Europe walk on four legs, wave with five arms and have at least two heads.
even though today is a very busy day for me, perparing to go to the city and all i had to take the time to sit down and watch your video, as i always do. even doing something as simple as an FAQ video, you are still entertaning and interesting, go team aeric winter ^_^!

No probs, I hope it worked out for you.

Hey, you know what is weird?
You are funnier in English than in German ... in German you sound like a common "Autoverkäufer"...so stick to English, pleaaase.

Not necessarily, YouTube has fixed that blur up and has entitled us to the rights of our own creations.

Hey! I am really glad to hear that. I worked hard on my trailer and I'm glad to know it's still mine. (please look) Thanks. lilly

Well, any video of mine that is marked [German ...] will be in German. I think there are six or seven in all, by now.

Seriously, once you've cleared out the bugs and installed some new xml effects, Windows Movie Maker can be very useful.
