  • how do you keep your 187 brush so white ?

  • @imairsiha I wash it after every use

  • It's $19.99 at sephora... -___-

  • you can also get them at target for $9.99

  • @Tumblingtwosome I go to a salon and I get pink and white acrylic

  • well i bought it yesterday and i love it!!!

  • I use my Sephora Bronzing #44 brush for apply foundation works great ! I have the MAC stippling brush, foundation brushes, sponges, the #44/Bronzer by Sephora is by best for me ! Fast & Flawless (only use a sponge around the nose and lip area) The key is dont apply the foundation to ur brush directly, I dot my foundation on a blank CD and then swirl my brush in it. Rinse the CD & reuse !

  • Where u get the Beauty Blender from? Its all about quality !

  • @jiller777 I got my original BB at sephora

  • @jiller777 You can get them at Target too. (:

  • Where u get the Beauty Blender from?

  • I use this sponge damp to apply my mineral foundation and I wash it everyday after use. The SK sponge lasts me around 4 months and I don't have any complaints at all, I think it does a good job.

Prior to switching to the SK sponge, I was using the Beauty Blender sponge (exactly the same way as I described using the SK sponge). For me, both sponges do the same job.

I wash my sponges and brushes in antibacterial face wash (intended for acne prone skin) and it removes all traces of product.

  • thanks for the advice guys, i actually bought this product (still use it)

it works pretty well and gives off a natural finish and not too bad to clean up.

  • how were you SO tan in april?! jeez i don't hit my peak until like july haha

  • I really like this, but i can't say i've ever tried the BB one... I use it with my Lancome foundation, and it works just fine

  • Did you ever get the Beauty Blender? Because I want to try that but was thinking that I should try this since it's cheaper. I want to try out a sponge with my NARS sheer glow since it is quite thin.

  • @fashionisfun14 yes I did and it is way better than this one! This one is rough and the BB is so smooth!

  • hi im thinking of buying this product, and I heard that the sponge is kinda harsh. Is it very rough? Because the skin under my eye is sensitive, and I really dont want to create wrinkles. Thanks :)

  • @holypandacow it is rough! I cant use it under my eyes

  • @holypandacow wet it irst smarties hehe [: then squeeezee it real hard to get water off and it becomes soft hehe [:

  • Just saw this video and you may not even have this product any more. I was wondering if you tried dampening the sponge (wetting and then squeezing till almost dry) and then using with your thicker foundations.

  • @Jinete9999 I have tried that and it worked ok but not great!

  • Are those metlife snoopy dolls in the back?

  • @rubyred1004 haha yes they are!

  • what did you wash the sponge with??

  • @TheTeitei I use an antibacterial cleanser!

  • What I found the blender is good for is cleaning up eye makeup boo boos the pointy end is great for that!

  • Was just at Ulta today, they have one for $5.

  • is the blending sponge soft and smooth like the normal sponge makeup wedges, or is it a little rougher?

  • it is slightly rougher than a traditional traingle sponge

  • thanks so much for this thougough review! wouldn't have thought about the wear and tear of these things. Have you bought or tried the beauty blender?

  • I have not tried the beauty blender yet!

  • Thanks for this review :) but I must say that I slightly disagree with you, maybe it's the way you are washing your blender what's making it crumble :( don't use softsoap use face wash or baby shampoo that isn't as harsh on it as regular soft soap and for the stains to be removed you could put a little bit of make up remover it has to be oil free that will keep it in perfect shape :) I been having mine for 3 weeks now and it looks new still so why not give it another try ?? ;)

  • mine did the same as yours.. ick

  • hi I'm italian...i want to say if sonia kashuk or other sites sended to italy...thaks kiss

  • I am not sure where else you can buy this I only know about Target! Good Luck!

  • hey how did you wash you sponge??? jw cuz i bought one ive heard different things about it and i have no idea how to wash it!!!

  • I run it under warm water and then I use anti bacterial soap on it! :o)

  • omg i got it yesturday and i regret it after watching your review. i am going to give the blender a try. ( love your makeup in this video)

  • I like how you said you use a "pouncing" motion with it! Hehe

  • you wear too much makeup for me personally..

    but i looovve your videos!

    keep up the good work

  • I had a facewash with ginger in it. I used a sponge like that but it was the toss away. It crumbled. So maybe is hates ginger? I know tea tree makes those things crumble on contact. Thanks for the review!

  • Interesting! thanks for the tip! :o)

  • I got the beauty blender with the cleanser and it's much better than the sonia one. I've washed it a bunch of times and all the foundation comes off it, it's not stained at all and it hasn't even began to tear. I use it wth my studio tech and my smashbox HD healthy fix. it gives me a better finish than using a foundation brush. I guess the beauty blender is just better quality huh?

  • I am glad to know the beauty blender is a better product! :o) Thanks! :o)

  • You look SO beautiful in this video!

  • aww thanks so much! :o)

  • I got one at a trade show and paid heaps for mine, I was also very dissapointed, I keep going back to the little wedge sponges too. Thanks anyway.

  • I agree the wedge sponges are more my thing also! :o)

  • thanks for this review, i'm glad i got a lumiere stippling brush then (less than half the price of the mac 187 but better quality than the coastal scents) =)

    xoxo

  • sounds like you got a great brush at a great cost! :o) Enjoy it!

  • How do you clean this thing!!!?? its driving me crazy i cant get it clean and soft where my foundation was!

  • I was told baby shampoo, but after a few washes mine started falling apart! :o(

  • I had the same problem cleaning it. I washed it with everything but my foundation always stained it. But I actually tried putting some baby oil on it and squeezing it in and around the stains. After a few massages, I soaked it in soapy water to get all the baby oil out... then my sponge was as clean as ever!! I don't know if baby oil will damage it in the long run, but I've been doing this for 2 weeks straight after every use. Hope this helps!

  • if you have a thin foundation is it better to use a sponge or your fingers? this video was really helpful i was thinking about getting this but i have changed my mind

  • It is personal opinion what you like better- I have some that I love my fingers, some that I always use a brush with and I dont have any that I prefer the sponge with yet! I hope this helped you! Thanks for watching! :o)

  • See? I love it w/ Revlon CS (which is a thick formula) and it makes it soooo much easier to blend out and creates an even coverage with a difficult foundation. It works way better if you saturate it and then squeeze *all* of the water out so that it's barely damp.

  • great tips! I want to love it- I will give this a try! :o)

  • The beauty blender is 300 times better. Definitely worth the money. I do makeup for weddings and have said good bye to my brushes for applying foundation and now only use the beauty blender for concealor and foundation. I have washed it more than 10 times and it still looks and works great. A must purchase for foundation junkies. :)

  • awesome- thanks for letting me know! I might still pick it up! :o)

  • You are amazing! I'm glad I could find your channel and subscribe to you yesterday ;-)

I'm using beauty blender with my clinique superfit foundation, and I love it. I've washed it a few times, and it looks as new so far. However, I think that if someone owns a good brush and likes it, there is no need of buying those sponges.

I love your little toy dogs in the back ;-)

  • aww thanks! I am glad you like you blender! I agree if you have a good brush this might not be needed! Thanks for watching! :o)

  • I have been waiting for this review because the beauty bender is so pricey and was wondering if this one would work jusdt as good, I was kind of shocked that its crumbling already, thanks for uploading!

  • I had wished I liked it more too! :o( Sad!

  • I have the beautyblender...I wash it after every use..so it has been washed about 10-12 times and it still looks the same as when it came out of the package! I love it!

  • I am so glad to hear that the beauty blender works better and holds up! Thanks for posting this! :o)

  • Thankx this really helped, I was actually looking at buying this, but have decided not to buy it. But, my question is, have you ever tried the brushes by sonia kashuk ? i was just wondering if they work as well as mac?

  • I have used some of her brushes and they are nice quality for the price! Enjoy! :o)

  • For some reason, I feel like sponges harbor bacteria so I am always reluctant to try it. Do you ever fee l that way?

    Thanks for the review.

  • I agree about sponges- not my thing unless I can throw them right away afte rusing them! :o)

  • the beauty blender actually pretty good it bought it after i used it backstage at a school play and i loved the coverage and they last a pretty good time 5-6 months maybe depending on how much you use it

  • ohh I am so glad that one is better! :o)

  • Hi, Lisa the name is some kind-a gorgeous "the foundation faker" it comes in two shades and also Could you review TheBalm Hot Bahama bronzer please. Thanks in advance

  • I will have to look in to it! If I buy it I will put it in a haul then remind me that you want a review!

  • i kinda wish i didnt get it too, but what can ya do right?

but its strange, cuz today i went to target and i saw the sponge was like a royal purple now! its the same target i got my blue one from so i wonder why theres a change.

  • I bet they just ran out of whatever material they were making them in. I hope the new one holds up better! I wont be trying it though! :oP

  • I love how your reviews are honest. You don't rave about every product like some gurus. Thanks!

  • I am glad you enjoy my reviews! I try to give my honest opinion on everything I try! :o)

  • I went to Target & looked high n low for that thing. Couldn't find it. I'm so glad I didn't buy it. I MUCH rather use my fingers to blend my foundation. I (might) try to BB from Sephora. Another GREAT vid. Good job.

  • I prefer my fingers too! I am glad you enjoye dthe video! :o)

  • Lisa, Thank you so much for the great reviews. I have the Sonia Kashuk blending sponge and I have been using it off and on for about 8 or 9 months now. I haven't experienced it tearing but it is very hard to clean. I would not purchase it again.

  • I am so glad your has held up better than mine did! Good luck with it! :o)

  • I liked this review. I thought I wanted the BB version and then I watched someone use it and it looked exhausting. I know, I'm a wimp, but I thought my arm would get tired. Today I used the 109 for my foundation and it was great. Not crazy about the shedding, but the results were worth it, so whatever. Thanks for the thorough review. Nice lipstick. :D

  • I am glad you found a way that really works for you! :o)

  • i was wondering about that! Thanks =]

  • i am glad this was able to help you! :o)

  • Thanks Lisa, I was considering getting this or the Beauty Blender, but I'm more of a finger applicator, so I'm going to pass on the sponges. You saved me some $!

  • I am glad you found this review helpful! :o)

  • I had the same experience with mine falling apart. The Beauty Blender is much more pliable and hasn't crumbled at all. It's just a PITA to clean.

  • I am glad you agree and I am glad to hear the BB holds up better! :o)

  • i love your reviews they really help me out, so i know what to buy.. thanx so much =)

  • I am so glad you found my reviews helpful! :o)

  • Hi, Lisa I really love your videos. I have request Can you review the foundation faker from benefit? please. Thanks

  • I have never heard of that one- what is it? I will look in to it! :o)

  • how do you wash it? because i been using this sponge even with my mac sculpt foundation and in my opinion, it works amaizing.. i love it..

its a shame that you had a bad experience.

  • I was using my baby shampoo to clean it! I wish I liked it, but I am glad you love yours! Enjoy! :o)

  • Lisa, remember I told you that? My SK sponge fell apart and I ended up throwing it away after about maybe 11 uses! Also, its so hard to clean it that you have to rub vigorously which causes the tearing! I honestly can't believe that the beauty blender would be much stronger!!

  • it is such a shame they dont hold up better! I agree I am not buying the BB one! :o(

  • You look tantastic

  • aww thanks so much! You are sweet! :o)

  • how do u wash it

  • I was using baby shampoo to clean it! :o)

  • How on earth are you getting so tan? Whatever you do, I'm going to do lol

  • haha! It is totally the St Tropez and the chanel bronze universal! they are love! :o)

  • I am glad to hear that yours has lasted for you! How are you washing yours? I just want to be able to give people tips if someone shares! :o) Thanks!

  • I feel the same way. After using it for about a week it looks like its starting to fall apart. Plus it looks like it has foundation stains even after I wash it. I'll stick with my 109 and 187. You'll be saving lots of people money. Thanks for the review.

  • I was hoping it would last for at least a month but a week was bad! :o( I love my 187, 190 and 109! I will stick with them! Glad you enjoyed the review!

  • Very helpful! I don't think this is "for me" either--thanks--I got a sample of the Dior Nude and the Dior Capture foundations to try--what color do you wear in the Dior? Why do I keep trying foundations when I love the Pro & the Armani?! You understand, don't you!? :) Lisa

  • haha! i was laughing when I read that! I totally understan! I love my Pro, Korres and now my nide, but I keep trying more! I am goign to order Armani soon- I just have to figure out what color I am. In Dior I am 76! I have a serious foundation problem! :oP But I love all the options and they dont go bad fast- so I rationalize! :o)

  • I can't seem to find these at any Target, so weird...too bad that they fall apart after a while. I love my 187 so was curious to try these sponges...

  • that is a shame because it is interesting to try! the 187 is much much better IMHO! :o)

  • you look really tanned in this video....I like!

  • aww thanks that is the st tropez self tanner! :o)

  • I didn't like this sponge either. I really, really wanted to after seeing Tiffany's video but I just could not make it work. I just bought the Korres Wild Rose Foundation (b/c of you! :) ) Do you still like using the 109 to apply it?

  • It is a shame cause I wanted to love it! :o( I love love love my Wild rose still- however I use my 190 to apply it! :o) I absolutley love it! :o) Enjoy!

  • Mine is falling apart after just a couple of uses also.

  • It is such a shame I thought it shoudl atleast last a few months! :o(

  • Interesting revie thank you! I love your lip color in this vid it suits you well!

  • Thanks girl- glad you liked it! :o)

  • You look beautiful... great tan!:) I wasn't crazy about this spounge. I like it for my chin area but that's about it.

  • I am gla dyou agree with me- it is a shame though because I really wanted to liek it! :o(

  • great vid i convinced myself (who only uses msfn or matte powder) that i need this but then i came to my senses and as i opened this video im like "please dont like it please dont like it' cause you have a way of getting in my head lolol

  • yay! I am glad I saved you on esomething even though you try to PUSH me to buy more! haha! JK! :oP You know I love it!

  • Thank you soooo much for doing this review! :D I was just about to order one of these literally I had the site open while I was watching youtube lol and then I saw this and I was like OH! Better watch this first. I can't believe it fell apart that quick. That is horrible :( But I agree I dunno if I would want to spend the money on the beauty blender either because I am afraid it might do the same thing. Oh well, :( But thank you for letting us know! :D

  • hey girl- i am glad this helped you- I am hearing that the Beauty Blender is much more durable, but I just didnt like the concept of this one even if it stayed together, so I dont think i will buy the BB!

PS- Thanks for the email earlier on YT! :o) That makes me mad, but it isnt worth addressing! :o(

  • i love your videos, and it's really nice that you try to comment people back that leave comments. :)

  • aww I am glad you enjoy my videos! I comment back because if people take the time to send a message to me I want them to know I read them all! :o) Thanks for watching! :o)

  • WOW I would think a ten dollar sponge would last longer then 5 uses. That stinks. But hey at least now you know that you are happier with the brushes and you saved all of us money too.

Thank you Lisa for the great review. You look awesome I would swear you've been to the Bahmas for a month:)

  • I agree I thought it would last at least a few months! :o( I am glad to save people money! :o)

  • Thats an interesting sponge! But yeah, bad news if it is falling apart already! x

  • yeah I was bummed about that! I wish I liked it! I really wanted to! :o(

  • Thank you for the reviuw!

I was wondering if I should have this sponge or not. Now,I have a better idea.

  • I am glad you found teh review helpful! :o)

  • Glad I didn't buy it.. I had a feeling it was not that tough through use and washing.

Pressing the sponge on gives fuller coverage, so I know why that's in the directions... but thought they would have chosen a more durable foam.

  • I am glad this review was helpful for you! :o) I agree with the durability!

  • wonderful review (as always)!

  • I am gla dyou enjoye dthe review! :o)

  • I thought that may help people out beause a lot of people have issues with using the 187 as a stippling brush! :o) Glad to help!

  • Great review! The quality appears to be no different aside from shape to a inexpensive house cleaning sponge. I also keep a package of those wedge sponges they don't seem to soak up prodcuct even when wet. I think a possible alternative could be getting a natural sea sponge & cutting it to size. I find these new concept sponges very gimmicky & will not purchase. Thanks for all the information :)

  • I am gla dyou found this helpful and thanks for all yoru tips also! :o)

  • Lisa forgot to ask if you could do a review of the MAC 191 foundation brush. I think that is the right number, I believe they call it a paint brush...thanks I am thinking of picking it up and would love to know your thoughts!

  • I have a review/comparison of the 189/191 and 190 brushes coming up! :o)

  • that's the kind of product that I lovee lovee the concept but doesn't work in real life...

P.S.can u please tell me if u like benefit high beam???thanks

  • I agree it is a greta concept if it works for some people! :o) I like the high beam- i actually have a reviwe on my list for soon! :o)

  • Hi Lisa! I have the beauty blender and I love it. It gives a really wonderful finish, almost airbrushed, I agree it does take more time. I've been using my B.B. sponge for over a month and it is good as new.

Thanks for your honest review. I agree if you like your brushes you most likely won't like the B.B.

  • I am so glad you love your sponge! :o)

  • i personally think that the beauty blender has higher quality and really well and better then the sonia kashuk

  • I agree that it is better quality- I just dont like the method of the sponges so I think I will stick with my brushes! :o)

  • i agree 100%! i find it applies it better , and it seems to be more sanitary to me.

  • Hello Lisa!

Thank you so much for this review! I was just thinking this morning about going to pick up this product and try it out. Not worth my time or my money it seems like. I'll just stick to what works for me. Thank you for your honesty- it's very much appreciated. Cant wait to see more of your vids in the future! Take care!

  • I am glad i was able to save you some money! :o)

  • Hey sweetie

I htink that you would look good with curls it would give you a lift.

  • do you mean my hair? i weaar it both ways- depends on my mood and time each day! :o)

  • Happy to see this review. I don't have one and have put off buying one. Something about this product really bugs me. lol Seeing what happened to yours solidifies my decision.

I like using a wedge and then tossing it.

  • i am glad this review was helpful for you! :o) I agree with wedges being much more sanitary! :o)

  • Very good review as always, I think your reviews are one of the best on YT! I love to apply the make up with my fingers, I ´ve tried it with a brush or sponge several times but honestly I don´t liked the result that much. At the end I always had to correct it with ... my fingers, LOL

  • I am glad you enjoyed the review! It is funny how sometimes our fingers are the best tools! :o)

  • Fingers are great & suffice, but brushes are just so much fun! lol! Some people collect shoes, some handbags, but I adore brushes!

  • I generally don't like sponges, but I went ahead and went for the beauty blender. I had also ordered one from Ebay and that seller was so mean about the shipping price she had quoted vs. what she charged me, we ended the transaction. She was crazy and cursed me because I asked about a $1 difference. Nuts. Anyway, waiting for the beauty blender. I didn't get the cleanser so hopefully my baby shampoo will work alright. So, now I am glad I didn't get the Sonia Kashuk one. Hopefully the BB is good.

  • I agree on the sponges- I prefer That sucks about your ebay seller! I am glad you finally got one though! I hope you like it! :o)

  • Great review Lisa! I'm not a big sponge person either. Personally I'd use the little wedges and toss then use this one. 5 uses and it's already falling apart! *hugs* I'd try to return it or go and email the company;o) Maybe it's a bad batch.

  • I am glad I am not the only one! :o) I dont think i am going to worry about returning it! :o(

  • Hey girl! Nice review!

  • glad you enjoed it! :o)

  • I was going to try this - so thanks for saving me money! Now that I've heard your review, I'm thinking twice about blending sponges in general. I really like brushes - both the result and the more sanitary aspect of them.

  • I am glad this saved you some money! :o) Enjoy your brushes!

  • Hi Lisa. Personally I use this sponge, but I've found it works better for me after I use a stippling brush to first apply my foundation. I just use the sponge to basically set my foundation as it makes my skin look poreless. With the brush alone I don't get that same look.

  • great tips! I am glad you founda way to use your sponge!

  • Great review! I've got the beauty blender and it is amazing! so quick and simple I've had it for 2 weeks and its still looking new! I was wondering if this one compares but looks like it doesnt which makes me feel better for spendin all that money on a sponge so thanks for the review!!

  • I am so glad you like yours! :o) Enjoy!

  • thanks for the fabulous review. Sucks about the product since I usually love Sonia Kashuk's product (i/e synthetic flat blusher brush) but thanks for saving me $10. lol

  • I ususally like SK stuff also! :o) I was dissapointed!

  • Hi Lisasorry but this is one review I dont agree with.I have been using the Sonia Kashuk sponge for 2 weeks and

I also clean with the I-Skin sponge cleaner from Sally Beauty Supply. My sponge has not fallen apart. I love using it, I think my foundation comes out looking flawless

I would say overall if you are a brush person your right it just may not be for youThanks for doing this though! Good to hear what everyone thinks!

    Kat

  • I am glad you like it! :o) Great tips! Enjoy!

  • Thanks for the great review. I am going to try the beauty blender to see how i get on because that is all we have available here in the UK. :) x

  • that is a shame you cant get this one! If you get the BB from sephora and dont like it you can send it back! :o)

  • can you imagine a world without sephora?? well that's reality here in the UK unfortunately :( we haven't got a sephora. I have ordered the BB from a website just to see what all the hype is about. do u think you will the BB at some point?

  • PS: you can't return makeup products in the UK unless they are faulty. You guys in the states are so lucky. :) x

  • Great review as usual!
