He "invented" biological age testing? They've been doing it on the American version of the show for at least the last 4 years. I looked him up and his neuro work is very impressive.

um, you do realize a person can be at a healthy weight, and still be extremely unhealthy right? there is such things as smoking, and drinking. and there are some skinny people that have high metabolism, and they eat crap foods and do massive damage to their bodies, and dont realize it until their metabolism slows when they are older. its important to eat healthy, exercise, and avoid smoking and drinking, to truly be healthy....
I don't know what methodology this guy used, but there is definately sound scientific research re: biological v. chronological age that leading physican/researchers have done in the US.
I understand the point of the biological "age" but really how accurate can it be? I guess they have a certain percentage per age but people are built differently so it can only be so specific.
I agree..it's all hypothetical. As it is the BMI is fundamentally flawed as shown when heavily muscled people are termed obese by the medics!! Plus pollution is not included and that causes aging as does UV index, and one's psychology also plays a role as does genetics.
Agree, my sister is 5ft 4 and weighs 138lbs. Her gym told her she is obese. She is pretty small. She's not super toned but she certainly isn't flabby. She is thinking of quitting the gym. I'm like give me a break!!!
This episode was a wake up call for me. Right now I am on a weight loss journey and did chronological age on myself and I am slightly younger than my biological age because I have been doing it for six months. But, I am certain that probably was much higher when I started. This pure motivation for me to keep going with my weight loss.
They should have done the bio tests at the beginning, before any exercise was done. Then the results would be more dramatic. After a month of training these contestants are in better cardio shape than 98% of the population. And if the results look bad, they would have looked much worse a month ago.
andrew is very handsome :)

What a crock of shit!! As someone who works in the medical field, I think it's appalling that he spouts this nonsense with no scientific backup!

Sorry, but I think these ages he came up with are ridiculous and I don't understand how they come up with them.
I sure don't put much merit in it.

OH GOD THE BEEP TEST. We used to have to do this in P.E. at school, I hated it sooo much.
vixky08 2 years ago 2
same, expect we call it the pacer test, we do it every 9 weeks :(
Did you know it was only a minute each level, at the beginning, it's a bit longer and at the end it's a bit shorter.

I HATE the Pacer! I don't care how good or bad of shape I'm in, I will always and forever hate it
