I remember Rudolph when he was just a little boy. We played in the same orchestra. He was incredibly talented, a child prodigy. I remember seeing him and his brothers and sisters riding their bikes around town, with their instruments strapped to their backs. Ah, the memories.

alright all, to you who love this video, Rudolf Haken is the viola professor at the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign and he is also one of the most fantastic performers i know. he and the bass professor here are going to be doing a video akin to this with some more metallica music arranged for viola and bass. and btw, electric viola's can't be rare because they aren't made of wood and they are manufactured in factories not hand made by luthiers

I've been playing viola since middle school, and it still irks me when people try to correct me "you mean violin?" NO.

Viola is a slightly deeper, slightly bigger instument.

Doesn't have the e string of a violin and has the C string of a cello.

So, people, viola is a seperate thing than a violin.
