i just tried to convert my video work into movie format and now the original 636 mb large video is as movie file 5 bytes big.. something is wrong with this software.. people all around the internet complain... how can you export your important video work as a file so you can watch and enjoy your hard work? i don´t care if its wmv or avi or something else as long i can convert it to upload it or just look at it with media players. who knows something?

i got sony vegas pro 11 and i can´t export my videos now as avi or any format that i could play with media player or vlc player or whatever... it has millions of functions but no option to export so you can watch the video... so who knows what to do? is there any chance to save as a avi or wmv file? because in this video here its vegas 5 but version 11 can´t save as wmv... its weird that the designers forgot the most important function we all need... exporting as avi or wmv... sad but true...

when I put my videos into both vega 8 the application freezes up. when i put them in sony vegas 10 it crashes after it has begun rendering a while. they are just fraps recordings...

Old video. Now you have to use "640x360" setting at least. That's widescreen without the letterbox.

I need help. I made a photo show video on the windows movie maker. It is uploaded to You Tube, but, it is very blurry. How do I improve the clarity of the images if I don't have the program that you were referring to in your video. When I try to edit my video I get a message reading that the file is the wrong type. I have a question; haven't found the answer on any other tutorial here. I have .avi vids that I want to add a soundtrack from an mp3 file to and re-render as an .avi file. wmv files don't always "play well with others" si I want to keep them as .avi and render them to wmv or whatever later if I choose. When I try to keep them as .avi they don't render though--the vid is black and only the soundtrack plays. Are there certain settings I should be using? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

on vegas 8.0 pro theres no option of 1 mbs movie

its 512kbps and the next best is 3mbps. What one should i chose?

Look at the Custom button at the left, it is in this video. Enter 1 M

and you will have the right stream, but stream 512 is also more than enough for youtube because youtube's max stream is around 320 kbps. HQ youtube will be or is now already on about 900 kbps.

I have ver. 8.0 and it doesn't seem to allow 1 mbps. The closest options to 1 mbps is 3 mbps or 512 kbps. Which do you think would give best for youtube?

After the video renders, is it supposed to be saved automatically..? Am I supposed to do something..? I tried a video yesterday and after it rendered, I clicked the little diskette icon at the upper left and saved it to My Videos; when I looked in My Videos I saw a black colored document icon with the videos name but it had an extension that was not a video extension--the wmv I had used. I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong? This program is great but it's also pretty confusing.

surley just using overlay layers you can add black boxes? OR if you want a video in widescreen try looking for the aspect ratio setting and pick 16:9 (widescreen)

You mentioned in the video that you grabbed xxxx from the DVD. Can you let me know what prog (or maybe do an informative utube vid) on how to extract bits of DVDs to AVI or mpg wmv etc from the source dVD which seems to me to be a bunch of unusable files, iso's etc. I tried Gordian Knot but I don't know which file to put in the 'input' section to get a positive outcome, and what if I only want a scene or two?

If your on Windows Movie Maker, don't choose "Video for Broadband 512kbps" the better chioce is "Video for Local Playback 2.1mbps". This will display the "High Quality" option in YouTube for your video. But make sure you have movie maker on 16:9, & NTCS (NTCS is fine in any country) so please reply if you have any questions! :-)
